Questions & Answers for Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Question
How do you sharpen?
Is there a way to use this pencil past the initial point? I was trying to find a way to turn it, but it doesn't work that way. Can you use a sharpener to get more use out of it? Seems like a waste if that's all there is to it.

Thanks

Don't worry, you can definitely sharpen the pencil. You'll get the longest use out of your pencil if you use the Urban Decay Grindhouse Double Barrel Sharpener. I've had my favorite pencil for everyday use for over 5 months now and it's only about halfway gone!

Of course you can use a sharpener. I recommend these you find at sephora (I've got one for less than 5$) cause a "not suited for makeup" sharpener will make a mess.

We suggest using the Urban Decay Grind House sharpener: http://www.sephora.com/grind-house-P219007?skuId=1470988

yes, you sharpen it...I've used mine for a year down to the metallic stub. Sharpen slowly or sometimes the tips break off. Happy lining.

The thing about these eyeliners, as wonderful as they are, is that you need to get the urban decay sharpener. Nothing else really works as well on these eyeliners. Its not expensive and 100% worth it. It works like a charm and gives the pencil that fine point you need.

I would assume that Rockstar is less harsh for blue eyes. I actually have blue eyes and medium skin and love the shade Bourbon, becaue I think that black is just too harsh and makes my eyes look smaller.

Black is universally flattering and always bold, but I highly recommend the rockstar shade! It's dark enough to be universally flattering with just enough sparkle to it. Definitely my favorite.

I'd say either will work... black goes with everything, and, Rockstar is a GREAT shade - one of my personal faves. It's not too purple-y, if you know what I mean. Try it!

Some shades have been discontinued, but they have also come out with multiple new shades that are similar to older ones, just tweaked a bit.

1999 was discontinued about 3 years ago, they constantly update colors and phase some out. Have to buy the ones you love while you can!

What brushes can I use to blend this? I've seen people use these pencils for their whole eye look and it looks like eyeshadow.

I mostly use a cotton swab for blending or a small, firm shader brush. These smudge quite nicely for a softer look.

I always use my pinky - clean, of course. Within the first 30 seconds of applying the pencil, it is highly blendable. After that, it sort of dries down to a waterproof finish that stays put for most of the day.

You can sharpen it with any standard eyeliner sharpener. The one I use is the SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful Dual Antibacterial Sharpener because it's affordable, has two compartments for small and big pencils and is easy to clean.

These are sharpened old school style. With a pencil sharpener. However, if you want to avoid the pencil breaking, you can put it in the fridge for a few minutes before you sharpen it. That will toughen up the liner and help prevent the tip from breaking.

They make a sharpener. I have a 3 year-old that runs away with things, so I've even used a regular pencil sharpener and it worked just fine.

Yeah, you can technically sharpen it, but I have never done so successfully. The liner is VERY soft and the casing VERY hard, so you have to stick it in the freezer for an hour then sharpen it with a high quality sharpener. It's always smushed apart in my sharpeners though.

It's a twist up "pencil" the tip is a rubbery material and a gel liner comes out when you twist the bottom. You can't control how much comes out and the instructions say 1 twist will cover both eyes which is a complete lie.
