Creams that are darker in color mean they have oxidized alot and not as effective anymore. Vitaminc C needs to be in a dark airtight container to keep it potent. Most vitamin C serums/creams are good for about 2 weeks before they start degrading. Moisturizers always make me break out, except for Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, and Ole Henriksen's Express The Truth. I have only good things to say about this product, and my face is so sensitive and picky! No pimples, no blackheads, no extra oil production. Just clear, glowing, moisturized skin. (only use a small amount) That's the way everyone's face should be!

Moisturizers often cause breakouts for me. I've used this product for a few years and its one of the few that haven't given me breakouts... I'm staying loyal to this one!
If you decide to try it, I recommend using just a small dab to cover your whole face - it should go a long way. Then, if you feel like you need more moisture, use a little more. I feel like one key to not breaking out from any moisturizer is to not over-saturate your skin. Just use the amount you need and not more.

Question
Can I use this as an eye cream?
I was at Sephora looking for eye creams and for some reason, the sales assistant gave me a sample of Express the Truth cream. I realized her mistake when I went back looking for this eye cream and couldn't find an eye cream version. I ended up buying Visual Truth Eye cream to try since it's an actual eye cream, but I'm not liking it. I like Express the Truth much better as an eye cream. Is it safe to use on your eyes? I haven't experienced a reaction, but I've never used an eye cream before that wasn't specifically an eye cream. Thoughts and/or opinions are very welcome. Thanks!

The sales person may have mistaken the Ole Henriksen Express the Truth Moisturizer for Ole Henriksen Visual Truth Eye Creme...no matter. I haven't tried the eye cream but I do love the moisturizer! If it's working as an eye cream, use it! Maybe next time you are in Sephora you can sample the Visual Truth Eye Cream by Ole Henriksen. I'd love to hear your review on that product...

I use this product as a night cream, and I do use it around my eyes as well, though that's typically not recommended (using face creams around the eyes) unless using a specific eye cream. I have not had any bad reactions to it. In fact, I think it's been beneficial to me, as the skin around my eyes is plumper and tighter.

It depends on how sensitive your under-eye area is; for some people it is ok, for others it clogs the skin under the eye and make the texture look uneven.

Question
Express The Truth OR Pure Perfection?
I'm looking for a night moisturizer to put on after the Peter Thomas Roth retinol fusion. I'm 36 and have combination skin with some enlarged pores and pigmentation issues. I've narrowed my choice down to Ole Henriksen's Express The Truth and Pure Perfection. But which one?! Any pointers or suggestions?

Express the truth may be too heavy/thick if you have oily patches. I am not familiar with the other formula, but if it is lighter, you might go with it.

Question
Flushing from Express the Truth creme
Hi!

I've been using this cream in conjunction with Ole Henriksen's invigorating night gel (which I apply first) but I experience a slight flushing on my skin each time. It hasn't aggrevated my skin or done anything else bad. If anything, I've been gettting great results from using both products.

I was wondering if it's supposed to do that due to the high levels of antioxidants in the cream.

Any insight would be great.

Thanks.

I think the flushing might come from the Invigorating Night Gel, not Express the Truth... I used to use both products too, and experienced the same thing. I stopped using the Night Gel and continue to use Express the Truth, and the flushed appearance went away. Since you like the Night Gel, I'd suggest not using the Night Gel every night, but maybe every other day or once a week instead.

Chances are, it is the "invigorating" gel making you flush. The moisturizer shouldn't, but things that make you feel "tingly fresh" or "invigorated" would. The cream alone was quite mild to me.

I have noticed some lightening, very little, around my eyes. I don't have what you would call "dark circles" around my eyes, just some pigmentation difference, it seems to look better, but I don't see this making a huge difference for pigmentation problems. It is a good night moiturizer tho!

I also have combination/oily skin. I found this product to be amazing, especially during the winter; here winters are dry. I am aslo prone to breakouts and this product has not exacerbated my skin. Next time you go into Sephora, ask the sales rep to make you a small sample, it's free and you get up to 3 in-store samples.

I don't know if it is oil-free and it is a little thick. This formulation was made for dry skin but I use it for my combination/oily skin and it does well to hydrate the areas that need it but not cause excess oil in the usual "T-zone". I am prone to breakouts but I take medication for it too; this one has not exacerbated my acne. I use this during the day and it works well for me.

I use this as a daily moisturizer before I put on a tinted moisturizer. I use it sometimes at night when my skin is dry. I have generally oily skin that dries out from cleansers. I don't feel like its too heavy as long as you don't overapply - just a dab should be enough.

This cream would of course be safe to use as an intensely moisturizing day cream. It absorbs well, so I assume it would be a good base for makeup. It would be excellent during winter months and dry summer heat. The only drawback is that it has no SPF in it. If that is a concern of yours, I would recommend the Ole Henriksen Express The Truth Daycream with SPF 15.

Question
am I too young to use this?
I'm 24 and have extremely dry skin. I came across Old Henriksen's toner, and I really loved it. then I bought the truth serum.
Now I am looking for a cream that would combat my dryness and discovered this one. but I'm a bit concerned because I thought it's more for mature skin.. if I'm not wrong.
I got a sample of the sheer transforming cream but it's slightly not enough.
will this work for me?
Oh, in addition, I do break out often .. I don't know if its hormonal or what but is this non-comenogenic?

I'm 28 and I love this stuff... I dont think its for mature skin. It will help keep your skin looking young. Thats the key. Age prevention! You dont want your skin to get all dry and wrinkled and then worry about it.. its better to be proactive with dry skin. I'm not sure about the breaking out though. This has worked great for me with no reaction but everyone is different. Sorry I can't help you with that.
