Questions & Answers for Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner

Question
How does this work for contact lens wearers?
I have tried Smashbox Jet Set and Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. Both promised long lasting color. The problem I had with both is the eyeliner gets on my contact lenses about half way through the day so I have to take them out, clean them and put back in. Not exactly what I had in mind. Will I have the same problem with Clinique's Brush-On Cream Liner?

I wear contacts too and have never had that problem. I wear on my upper lid and sometimes lower if I want extra drama. It is one of the reasons I really like it. I am assuming that you are not wearing the liner on your inner lids.....if you are, then it may be a different story.

I sometimes wear contacts and I have used this liner with them without any problems. We all have different eyes so it is hard to say. This stuff does stay put pretty well for me and I haven't had it get on my contacts at all so far. It is a pretty good liner and doesn't break the bank either.

It does come with the brush in the picture. It's pretty small and I have been using it instead of my MAC brushes with this liner. The brush is very stiff, thin, and *short*. Because of this, you have good control of its movements and coverage. Also, being square, you can smudge or add thick lines uniformly for a dramatic look.

It's a dark, reddish brown, with a hint of plum in it. It looks brown but when you compare it to another regular brown, you'll see the difference. Try the testers on your wrist next to each other.

answer 4
Black honey is a reddish to true brown with some sparkle (the only color of those offered which contains sparkle). It applies as a deep brown on my pale skin, so I am guessing it looks rather dark (but is definitely not a blackish brown) on anyone. The sparkle doesn't show up on eyes, so it is not garish. It appears to glimmer very occasionally, but the effect is not distracting or silly.

Black Honey does look mostly dark brown (I haven't seen the dark brown version of this product). Not so dark as to look black, but it also has a definite amount of purple in it. You can see it when it is on a little thinner.
I applied some to my hand and it looked like a medium dark brown with gold shimmer, but when i wiped it off the color on the towel was definitely purple. It was the color you see in the description for the black honey lipstick (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P122751&categoryId=B70).
I have fair skin and brown eyes and am pleased with the color. For me black is a little much and brown is a little blah, so this is great. If i wanted to glam it up I would add a little black liner/shadow close to my lashes.

Get a sample before purchasing that is what I did and am now gonna purchase the product on my next visit to Sephora :) Have to say that this has blown MAC's fluidline, Bobbi Browns gel liners, UD and MUFE "waterproof" eyeliners and all the other gazillion ones I have tried!

When I use mine I just use it for my top lash line, and use Bare Minerals Big and Bright eyeliner on my waterline. You Probably could apply the gel liner if you got a more precise brush than the one it comes with. I still prefer a pencil for my waterline though. Just a quick tip: Try drying your waterline with a Q-tip before you use your pencil so it has more staying power. Hope that helps! :)

This liner stays put very nicely. Lately, I've had problems with my liners smudging, running and bleeding, or my liquid liners getting dry and looking flakey. This glides on incredibly smooth, doesn't pull your skin in the process, and is extremely long lasting. I work 14 hour days and never need to touch up or clean up the line. Love it!

I clean the brush with a daily brush cleaner (by Mac for $11 or something) after each use. I would say this is a necessity...think of the bacteria on your eyes that would still be on the brush after one use! I'm pretty sure that's how people get cysts on the hair line of their eyelid...

Im lazy and I don't wash my brush that often. I just wiggle it on the tissue a bit so it is soft and use it...it works fine. When you do use it, you can just use a little makeup remover. I use some inexpensive DS facial cleanser and let it dry by laying it flat.
