No, it makes your skin matte and even helps shrink pores, I also haven't noticed any breakout and I'm acne prone. Try it, I think you'll love it!

I have very sensitive skin, and I break out pretty easily. I expected this product to cause breakouts, but it didn't. Actually really improved my skin tone and texture. My skin also gets really oily and shiny in my T-zone throughout the day, but this really helped that as well. Everyone's different, but it's worth trying. Remember, Sephora has an excellent return policy :)

Question
How does this primer compare to Laura Mercier and Smashbox?
I am trying to decide whether to try this product or not. I would like to see how it compares to "Laura Mercier" - good, and "Smashbox" - ok.

I am also looking for the "Super Restoratives Tinted Moisturizer Cream" (can't find it here?) with SBF 20. I have tried the tinted moisturizer and used it for foundation - very pleased.

It is time to buy primer and foundation, so I am trying to read opinions to help me choose.

Thanks!

I haven't tried Smashbox, but I prefer it over Laura Mercier. It really is smoother and there is a visible difference when you apply it to your skin--I didn't see those results with the LM primer.

This works a lot better than Smashbox, and it doesn't smell funny! For me Smashbox turns oily and my make- up wears off quick, not with Clarins. I didn't think Laura Merciers' did anything at all. This product lasts a long time, and it really does blur lines and pores and that effect lasts all day for me.

I think this makeup base is much better than Smashbox. I tried to use Smashbox with my Bare Escentuals makeup and it would roll up and come off when I was applying the foundation. The Clarins makeup base stays in place and doesn't come off.

Question
BE foundation?
I use bare minerals foundation and i cannot find a primer that works with it. I tried their prime time primer and smashbox and both form into little rubbery balls on my face! Will Clarins do that? And I have combination skin so will it control oil while hydrating dry spots i have?

I use it with Bare Minerals everyday and it works fine. I also liked the Laura Mercier foundation primer for mineral makeup too. You may like that one better if you have an issue with oilyness.

I use Laura Mercier powder makeup and the Clarins primer and it works well, no problems with powder forming balls. Maybe wait a minute before you apply powder and let primer set.

I received a sample of this and have used it under my BareMinerals twice. I think it is so awesome that I will be buying the full size soon. This Clarins base and my BareMinerals foundation = best looking and feeling skin I have ever had. Like baby's skin, not too matte, not too dewy, definitely not oily, and soooo smooth.

I have used the bare minerals primer, and while I liked it, I was allergic to it. I have oily t-zone with large pores. I find if I let this dry for a full minute before I put on my foundation it works great. It fills in my pores, and makes a nice, smooth surface for my make up and adds a nice glow even when I don't wear make up. It does not break me out and does not make me look oily. It does not ball up like the other things you tried. Not sure that it controls oil though as I think it is made more for mature skin (I am 45).

I have combination skin and it works beautifully. I would think it would work with Bare Minerals, as you let it sit for a couple of minutes. I use Tarte Mineral Powder directly over it and it is perfect.

I cannot answer specifically regarding the yellow concealer but Instant Smooth hasn't interfered with my foundation shade, concealer or eye shadow shades. It is a very pale pinkish color. I am prone to redness and it helps to diminish that significantly especially when I use it with foundation.

I have no sensitivity to this product and I have a very hard time finding products that don't cause my eyes to burn, water or become irritated. It dries to a nice smooth texture, not dewy and moist, this way the concealer or foundations smooth on really nicely. It does not settle in lines, but smooths them out. It is Well worth every penny and is really the best primer/base I've ever used. It truly does sort of melt into the lines/imperfections to smooth them.

It dries dry and leaves your skin butter soft. They have testers in the store, so you can see if you're sensitive to it. It makes my skin look so perfect for my age, that sometimes that's wear with a sweep of SPF translucent powder.

Nobody had more sensative eyes than me, that is why I have a hard time with so many products. This product is perfect, it does not burn or make your eyes water, the use is wonderful around the delicate eye area and the finish is amazing, a soft feel and look that is not too dry or greasy, just radiant, I guess the dewy description would be best.

I wish Sephora would put the ingredient list for all the products and not just some. I checked and they do not have it for this product; so here it is straight from the Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch box - I think being a chemist would come in handy about now.

Ingredients: cyclopentasiloxane. dimethicone. dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer. hydrogenated vegetable oil. vinyl dimethicone/ methicone silsesquioxane crosspolymer. silica. disteardimonium hectorate. pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate. alcohol. tocopheryl acetate. butylene glycol, silica dimethyl silylate, acacia senegal gum. phenoxyethanol. caprylyl glycol. hexylene glycol. CI77019/mica . CI77491/iron oxide. CI77891/titanium dioxide. CI75470/carmine.

For me this is the best line filler I've tried and I think it is the only one by Clarins. I did not like the Sephora Collection "Tricks of the Trade" Immediate Wrinkle Filler which appears to be very similar but the end results were not. Loreal has a new one, Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base, that also at first glance looks nearly the same but it was awful. A lot of primers I've tried are too light-weight. They do keep make-up fresh and in place but also seem to be slightly drying and I don't feel that they do anything for fine lines. To answer your question, this does not have a dry finish; my skin feels refreshed and hydrated, I guess you could use dewy to describe it. For me, the ones that have a dry finish accentuate the little lines rather disguise them. I hope my answer/opinion was helpful.

I am 50, and was worried it would make my face too oily, and end up with under eye smugging. Not so, it is completely "neutral". Try it out at the store for a day to see if it'll work for you. I have some "crepe-ing on upper eyelid and under eye, it made make up go on unevenly. Fixed this completely.

In my opinion, the Clarins cream helps only when you have it on. It works really well under makeup. The only result that seems to last when its washed off is that your skin is pretty soft because of the moisturizing effect. Also, my skin is a little less red because it doesn't irritate the skin like other products do. I don't think its meant to be anything more than a temporary fix under makeup.
