When I returned the product to Sephora because of a terrible breakout it caused me, the lady at the counter said that it does contain silica/silicones and that may have been the reason my skin freaked out.

The word silicone is not in the ingredients, however it does have methicone silsequioxane and silica.

It has silica & something listed as silica dimethyl silylate. It also has dimethicone which is a polymer derived from silicone. I am not a chemist but I do know that silicon is a naturally occurring element. I found this beauty blog informative regarding this subject: http://mollyloretta.com/wordpress/2009/02/silica-in-cosmetics/
Check it out and make your own decision but from what I have learned it is it helps to absorb oil and help make up last longer which is probably why it is used so often in primers since primary objective is to keep make up on your face looking good.
