I would recommend using a mascara over it. It goes on white, and stays white. If you just wait 5-10 seconds and throw some mascara on over it, it covers all the white and really boosts your lashes.

You would defnitely want to put on mascara after using this, otherwise you have white lashes. I don't think it's meant to be used without mascara, it's more of a mascara base.

Cils Booster is definitely better. I just received dior primer and I like Lancome's much better. You dont get that false lash look with dior that you do with Cils booster. Plus you only need one coat of cils booster to get the look compared to dior where you need at least 2 for it to look a little amplified. Dior is just average. I bought this after reading all the hyped up reviews about it. Im going to exchange it tomorrow.

I'm debating between the two too... but the answers to this question depends on which product's page you are asking this question on. The people on the Lancome mascara base say this is better; the people on the Dior mascara primer says Dior is better.

I've always come back to the CILS BOOSTER XL. I've tried almost every base out there and they either flake or smudge by day's end. Not this one! I've been a repeat buyer at least 10 times through the past years.

I've used Dior's mascara (which is the worst), so I won't try any other eye products made by Dior. THis is just as comparable to Armani's Primer.

answer 7
I've tried both and personally I like the lancome cils better. I did not try the dior as a lash growth serum so I can't comment on that. The dior maximizer does make my lashes look longer and fuller, but it has a stickiness to it that makes my mascara go on unevenly after, which does not happen with the lancome cils.

Hi,

You do need a mascara over this. Although it did nothing for me, I can see that it may work for other people. What's really important is that you wait until it's definitely dry before applying mascara so it doesn't mix with the mascara and end up in the mascara tube (via the mascara wand/brush).

Follow the directions for best results.

I don't let mine dry - I usually wait a couple of seconds but not enough to really let it dry, just enough time for me to find my mascara on my vanity and apply it. I like the way it looks without letting it dry, and I find that it's difficult to apply the mascara if the primer has already dried.

It is basically all of the above. Before i used this base and just used the mascara by itself, i noticed that my eyelashes were becoming more sparse than it already is. After i used this base, i noticed that some of my eyelashes came back, and it stayed that way. So for my experience, it does protect your lashes, and it lengthens, defines, and volumizes your lashes (: hope this helped!

It helps make mascara last longer, adds a volume boost. I also am convinced it helps make non-waterproof mascaras pretty resistant to water...not sure why, but that's just been my experience. Do you put a base coat on your nails before polish? Same idea :)

The reason I buy this product, and cannot live without it, is because I have very fine, thin lashes. Cils Booster immediately adheres to my lashes, giving a perfectly smooth base for mascara. It definitely lenthens, and does thicken, but not in that awful, heavy, clumpy way that looks so fake, like thickening mascaras. It will not dry you lashes or irritate your eyes. Excellent product--lasts 8or9 months so it is well worth the money.

I don't believe it does but my daughter claims hers are longer since she's been using it. She has always had great lashes but she is 45 now and our lashes thin with age.
I think CILS really enhances and conditions natural lashes and I know for sure you can use less mascara and still get a great effect.

No. It uses fibers to make the lashes LOOK longer, but does nothing to help condition or enhance growth.
I returned this and bought Dior's Maximizer Serum, which is amazing and got my lashes back to their natural length in 2 weeks, after having been damaged by extensions.

This product simply "waxes" your lashes allowing them to extend to their fullest. It's easy to apply and there are no side effects. Lenth extending serums have side effects such as darkening the eyelids brown, spots, etc. that are permanent. Buy the heat eyelash curler after the application of mascara just to the base of the lashes and you will get even more extention.

The Cils is a base coat so it stays on as long as the mascara you have applied over the top stays on. It washes off easily if you have a washable mascara. This is applied each time you apply mascara. It does seem to condition the lashes and it certainly doesn't hurt the lashes.

Mine last forever and don't really seem to run out, though they definitely work better when they're new. For safety's sake, I try to replace mine at least every 6 months. I don't know whether it has any lash conditioners, but since this works so well, you probably won't need them. ;)

I treat my mascara bases the same as my mascaras themselves. The lifespan is never any longer than 6 months, which is usually when I run out as well.

To me, bases are just another tube of mascara that happens to be put on first. :) Not sure if there is an actual, appropriate lifespan but this is what I've always done and no problems yet.

And for conditioning, no, I do not feel like this product conditions at all.

Personally I cannot use Clinique products, they cause irritation. I would go with Lancome. Next time your local store has a gift, with purchase, see if the Cils Booster is one of the gifts and try it. Or go to your local Macy's (or other fine store) and ask for a sample of both.

Lancome's primer is the best on the market. However, Clinique's primer is a good alternative if you don't want to spend quite so much money. I have used both primers and would recommend either one of them, but Lancome is definitely the superior product. As for size, neither Sephora nor the individual brand's websites mention how many ounces are in each product, but I would think that they are similar, if not identical.
