Question
which is the wax - which is the powder

answer 1
The one on your left is the wax, the other one would be the powder... for some reason the powder looks lighter and the was looks darker (just like the image) but it happens to be the opposite when you use it. I mean the wax is way more subtle than what it looks like, at the end the wax part it's only to keep your brow hair in place, and the powder to give coverage.

You use the angled brush to apply the darker color (wax) and fill in your brows, and then you use the blending brush with the lighter color (powder) to apply it over the wax and set it.

You first apply the wax color to your eyebrows. You can define them with the wax. Then you apply the tinted power. I like to use an eyebrown brush afterwards to blend it in a bit.

I would recommend light because it works for blonde, but it does have brownish tones, so it most likely would work amazingly!

Hello! I have the light kit currently and am in love with it! I have light brown hair, though, with blue eyes and pretty light eyebrow hair. Since you are dying your hair black you may want to go with the medium kit so your brows will be darker and match more. I think the light kit would be too light for you if you are used to wearing a charcoal brown pencil.

Hope this helps!

I've always heard that if you have blonde hair, your eyebrows should be two shades darker than your hair, and if you have dark hair, your eyebrows should be two shades lighter. I have light-brown hair that I dye dark red (think maroon) and I use the medium. If you dye your hair black, I think the dark would be good for you.

I also dye my hair black. (naturally light brown) I'd recommend going with the darkest brown shade of brow powder you can find. If you are choosing between a light and medium kit, go with the medium, that is assuming that you are trying to make the black hair look less "fake".
Most of these sets come with two shades, if the darker one feels too harsh to you, there is always the lighter shade in the kit.

Brow Zings Color
Hello,

I have black eyebrows, the sales person at Sephoria suggested this product which I love but gave me a dark brown color. I kept asking if it looked weird because my eybrows are black and she said no. I am wondering do you carry this product in black? I just think when in the sun it looks fake, not natural.

I agree that the right brow color is important. I can see how this brow powder would be too light for you. I love the darker Bobbi Brown powdered shadows for brows. Some Sephora stores are carrying Bobbi Brown products now and I think you can also order BB online from Sephora.

I have black brows as well and I use the zings for dark hair. The wax is going to make your brows look darker, well b/c it is wax so the powder will set it and help it look more natural. You will need to play with the product a little to find the right ratio of wax to powder in order to find what looks best with your hair color and skin tone, but you shouldnt worry, I am positive your brows will look "naturally" great.

I have black hair too, and kept making the mistake that my eyebrows needed to be black also. I was being told by friends & family that my brows looked "hard", "harsh", & like they were drawn on with a "Sharpie" marker because I was using black eyeshadow to fill them in. I finally listened to their advice and was told by the Sephora employee that we should never go with black, always a dark brown. And was she ever right! I look back at photos of myself and cringe with embarrassment now!! You may need to shop around for just the right shade of dark brown because some products have a reddish/clay tinge which was not right for me either. You can still use eyeshadow and the right angled brush if you find the correct shade, but please no black!!! Trust me on this....

Supposedly, you use a brow color that matches the lightest shade of your hair - if you've got brown or blonde highlights, then you'd use a lighter brow color. I've got brown hair, but black brows. On me, black brow color looks very harsh, so the brown does look better.

i have naturally jet black hair. i used to use a black eyeliner pencil to fill in my brows and they looked very unnatural in pictures...almost like tattoos. in my opinion, the dark powder works great with my eyebrows. i love how natural they look with the powder. if you're looking to change the shape of your eyebrows like make them a lot thicker, maybe this isnt the product for you because the dark brown color will noticeably contrast with your actual brows, especially if you have lighter skin.

i'm blond (streaks) and use the lightest colour and have no prob as my brows are just brown (not blond or black). the creamy wax goes on a bit light but once you add the powder to set the colour looks perfect. I was using a pencil and it didnt last (only a couple of months) This product will last forever as a little goes a long way. I think you'll like it!

I am a light blonde, almost platinum, and my brows fade on my face. So I tried the lightest shade of this item they sell, and it's still too dark. I wanted powder because I was tired of penciling in to give my brows depth, but I've gone back to a taupe colored pencil that I paid $0.99 for Wet N Wild.....works best for me

The wax in the light is actually fairly dark. You can apply lots of wax and layer the powder and make them even darker. You will probably be fine with light. I have dirty blonde-light brown hair with blonde highlights and I use light. Not too dark for me.

I don't think u can order them separately but u can just buy a angled brush at Sephora with the same intended use (brows or liner application ). Their concealer brushes have the same texture too. It would just be a bummer to not have the same exact size as the original then u can't store it in the brow sings compact.

You can use it where there are no eyebrows! I thought I'd have to use the powder (on the right) instead of the wax (on the left), but the wax is tinted so I use that both where I have brows and where I don't. It still stays really well so don't worry about problems if you don't have eyebrows.
