Question
which is the wax - which is the powder

answer 1
The one on your left is the wax, the other one would be the powder... for some reason the powder looks lighter and the was looks darker (just like the image) but it happens to be the opposite when you use it. I mean the wax is way more subtle than what it looks like, at the end the wax part it's only to keep your brow hair in place, and the powder to give coverage.

color selection???
I am a natural blonde hence i have blondish eyebrows.. I dye my hair black... i currently use a charcoal brown color for my brows; i cant decide whether to go with the light or medium kit. HELP!

I would recommend light because it works for blonde, but it does have brownish tones, so it most likely would work amazingly!

answer 2
Hello! I have the light kit currently and am in love with it! I have light brown hair, though, with blue eyes and pretty light eyebrow hair. Since you are dying your hair black you may want to go with the medium kit so your brows will be darker and match more. I think the light kit would be too light for you if you are used to wearing a charcoal brown pencil.

Hope this helps!

I've always heard that if you have blonde hair, your eyebrows should be two shades darker than your hair, and if you have dark hair, your eyebrows should be two shades lighter. I have light-brown hair that I dye dark red (think maroon) and I use the medium. If you dye your hair black, I think the dark would be good for you.

answer 7
I also dye my hair black. (naturally light brown) I'd recommend going with the darkest brown shade of brow powder you can find. If you are choosing between a light and medium kit, go with the medium, that is assuming that you are trying to make the black hair look less "fake".
Most of these sets come with two shades, if the darker one feels too harsh to you, there is always the lighter shade in the kit.

You use the angled brush to apply the darker color (wax) and fill in your brows, and then you use the blending brush with the lighter color (powder) to apply it over the wax and set it.

You first apply the wax color to your eyebrows. You can define them with the wax. Then you apply the tinted power. I like to use an eyebrown brush afterwards to blend it in a bit.

i'm blond (streaks) and use the lightest colour and have no prob as my brows are just brown (not blond or black). the creamy wax goes on a bit light but once you add the powder to set the colour looks perfect. I was using a pencil and it didnt last (only a couple of months) This product will last forever as a little goes a long way. I think you'll like it!

I am a light blonde, almost platinum, and my brows fade on my face. So I tried the lightest shade of this item they sell, and it's still too dark. I wanted powder because I was tired of penciling in to give my brows depth, but I've gone back to a taupe colored pencil that I paid $0.99 for Wet N Wild.....works best for me

It's hard to say without seeing you, but just a tip, I bought the light at first and it has a really redish-orange tint to it. The color of the medium is nicer I think - it's more true brown.

The wax in the light is actually fairly dark. You can apply lots of wax and layer the powder and make them even darker. You will probably be fine with light. I have dirty blonde-light brown hair with blonde highlights and I use light. Not too dark for me.

Yes you can. I have very thin eyebrows and it works fine for me. I use the wax first to do the outer line (top and bottom). Then I use the powder to fill in. After I use face powder and dab a little to set my brows.

You can use it where there are no eyebrows! I thought I'd have to use the powder (on the right) instead of the wax (on the left), but the wax is tinted so I use that both where I have brows and where I don't. It still stays really well so don't worry about problems if you don't have eyebrows.

I am an over plucker but i do have a a small patch of eyebrows as a starting point but the rest are gone!! using the slanted brush i rub it in the wax then the powder, then i pinch my fingers together and pull off the excess from the brush, this makes the line thinner and more precise...it took a couple trys to get it right but you'll never go back to pencil once you get the hang of it!! i have even started growingmy eyebrows back since using this because it glides over the little hairs unlike pencils! hope this helps!!

If you're simply judging by the online picture, look at the powder on the right side of the compact (NOT the wax on the left) and judge using that which would be best match for your hair color, as that is the fill color. If you can't try in-store to choose (at a Benefit counter or a Sephora), I'd personally go with the Dark by your description, and you can always trade-out colors if you find it's too dark for your tastes... however since it's powder, it's going to be softer/lighter than a black brow pencil for example.

Go for it, my hair is really dark and I think the darkest was the right shade for me. You can always do your brows in the store then walk outside to check it out in the natural light. And remember, no one is going to look at you from the distance that you look at yourself in the mirror.

I've found that the Anastasia brow wiz in Ebony is a much better (and cheaper) option for those with dark hair. If you are looking for a brow powder/wax - I suggest trying Smashbox instead. I am east indian and the brunette shade in this was still too light for my dark brown brows.
