I'll be honest, I never tried their other glosses. But this one is definitely thick, but not gloopy and clumpy like other glosses. It's smooth, and the amount (for me) that comes out on the wand is great for a thin coating on the lips to keep the natural look going on. It lasts well enough... i don't know how long people expect glosses to last, but it's pretty good as far as a plain gloss goes. it's not gonna give that thick, ultra shiney look that bare essentials gives, mainly because i dont think that's the look it's going for.

it's a great gloss. there's not much of either product, though. the tint will last ya longer than the gloss if you like lots of gloss

The gloss is really sticky. I would prefer to use the Benetint and supply my own gloss of my choice.

For a gloss to be long lasting it supposedly has to be a litle bit thick and unfortunately, sometimes a little sticky goes along with it. Compared to most glosses this is NOT very sticky. It's a decent gloss and last longer than many others. I find Benetint needs to have a gloss or it's very drying on my lips.

The gloss is nowhere as sticky as other glosses that I have tried. I am really picky when it comes to glosses, and I am pretty happy with this one. It is a tad sticky when it first goes on, but that feeling doesn't last after it is applied well, and I find that it don't notice it after a while (and for me, that is a very good sign).

The gloss isn't bad at all! It is very thick but not too sticky. If you let the tint dry before putting the gloss on - you just have to dab the gloss on your lips. You don't need much and it is pretty shiny.
The other option - if you want to use your own gloss is the full-size Benetint which is JUST the tint. This is the same color as that but compact and with a gloss.

You can use it before or after foundation, depending on how much color you want, how dramatic you want it to look. Obviously, foundation is going to tone it down somewhat. It is also very fresh and natural-looking when used on its own. I really like this product!

After you apply foundation like you normally would with blush. I haven't used it on its own, but have mixed with the high beam. Since it dries fast i would be sure you're ready to blend it when applying.

This can be applied directly onto skin to give a beautiful healthy natural blush.. It can also be applied on to foundation. It blends very easily. I love he staying power of Benetint. It never appears to dry out or cake up giving a over powered look. Very natural with an incredible staying power of a natural healthy glow.

I've also asked this question before since i set my foundation with powder. You can apply it above foundation if u want and then light rub it in. sometimes if i think it's too much, id put a little of my powder on my brush and blend it, it looks more natural that way

On days when I don't feel like wearing "makeup", I use a moisturizer then Benetint on cheeks and lips and mascara.
When foundation is necessary, I apply Benetint on cheeks after Bare Minerals powder. The stain blends easily.
Tip: When using Benetint on cheeks without foundation/powder, blend immediately after application.

I wouldn't recommend it... I mean, unless you have flawless skin! It blends really nicely, actually :3

I use it without foundation, but it can be used with or without. I've seen demos of it used by over and under foundation. When used under it, it was applied rather deeply with a light foundation, so the blush barely showed. I thought the effect of it over foundation looked better. I haven't tried either myself since I don't wear foundation. You could play around with it and see what works best for you.

I don't find it sticky. It's very comfortable and smooth. There are some lip glosses where you feel like you're applying honey to your lips. This is NOT like that.

It would last if you aren't constantly eating or drinking. For me the gloss comes off first but the stain will last a bit longer after the gloss wears off.

If you applied a couple of layers of the stain and then put the gloss on, it would last you all day without you ever even thinking about it again! I wore mine to the hospital and slept with it and it was still on the next day and the gloss was even still smooth without re-applying.

It's not going to last all day but you're not going to have to reapply it all the time, either. Like most lip products, if you eat and drink, you're going to have to reapply.

The clear glossy part will need to be reapplied after you eat or drink something, but the stain will last you longer. It doesn't last me ALL day, but I only need to apply it twice a day usually, as opposed to lipstick or gloss which needs to be reapplied much more often.

It lasts about an hour or two I would say. The gloss wears fast but the stain keeps your lips a nice pink shade for much longer

It lasts all day for me, even at the beach. And if I forget to remove it, it's still there the next day. I apply directly to my skin without anything under it. However, I'm not sure of the effect sunscreen might have on it. You might want to try that out to see.

I would say that this product does last a good couple of hours. I actually just applied it 3 hours ago (almost 4) and it's still on. The gloss is still on my lips, and if I wanted to re-apply the tint I would have to wipe the gloss off. To have coverage all day re-application would be necessary, but not often.

No, it is fine, you can add any Chapstick or gloss over it that you want to if you like, but it does not change the feeling of your lips. It is just a liquid, it is like when you stain your lips with a popsicle.

Being a stain, it does not dry out your lips at all. I rarely apply the gloss. The best part...it looks as if you where born with rosy lips and cheeks.

I found this to be very drying without a gloss or balm over it, which is why I don't use it on my lips. I love it on my cheeks. A very fine layer of skin peeled off on the few occasions I used it without something over it, and that's only happened to me once before in my life. When I put something moisturizing over it, there's no problem. My lips in general are perfectly fine, in great shape, well moisturized, and have no problems.

The texture is not like a long wear lipstick at all. Benetint is watery, and when you apply it to your lips it has a similar feeling. I would say it's more neutral - neither drying nor moisturizing - and you would want to apply a gloss or something over it. If you prefer your lips to feel plain, you could use Benetint on its own and your lips will be reddish in color without looking like you're wearing lipstick.

The actual "pocket pal" with gloss is only in 1 color, a soft rosy color, that can be made as red or as pink as you like... But, there are 2 other stains made for the cheeks or face that can be used on the lips too, and they are "posie tint" which is a bubblegum pink (but goes on lighter) and "high beam" (which is a luminescent soft pink, almost white, mostly used for luminosity).

I don't know about parabens, but it does contain the highest level of lead at 110ppm, which is 10 times higher than the limit set by Health Canada.

The large benetint does not have parabens, but I just bought the pocket pal and the benetint in the pocket pal has methylparaben in it. I was disappointed, so I'll be returning it. I'm so curious -- why would they add it to the pocket pal but keep it out of the large bottle??

Yes, it is waterproof for drinking and swimming, actually even for washing your face, you must use cleanser to get it off. It is just right.

Benetint is waterproof and perfect for a day at the pool or beach. Your cheeks and lips stay rosy.

Benetint is a smudge-proof stain that lasts for hours. If you are looking for something to stay on all day then look no further. I wear it everyday and it doesn’t go anywhere! But it does come off easily at the end of the day.with gee…that was quick! makeup remover.

No heavy metals, contrary to the two answers above, but plenty of chemicals, and at least one plant product (citronella). I don't know why those posts stay up, when they are incorrect.

This product is shown by the FDA to contain lots of heavy metals, this list includes: Lead, Selenium, Arsenic, Beryllium, Cadmium, Nickle and Thallium. I do NOT recommend this product, Heavy Metal Poisioning just to get my glow, I think not.
