Question
MUFA VS. NARS: Comparison? Which is better?
Has any one tried both MUFA and NARS? Are they close in quality and pigmentation? Or is the infamous NARS still a better bet?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I've used both. I'd say they're both equally as wonderful. I'd so to go by the color you want. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Hope this helps.

I agree with the other reviewer, MUFE eyeshadows and blushes are way better, easier to blend, and colors are more natural. The price is better too.

I prefer Makeup Forver. The product is smoother, and lasts longer. It's not as glittery as some of Nars products tend to be.

Question
Purple blush, Red eyeshadow??
This probably shows my ignorance, but what color skin looks good with purple blush, and what color skin looks good with red eyeshadow? It's been a very long time since I bought and played around with makeup, and then, we didn't even think of them as options. Always eager to learn, so ... any explanations?

You have to remember, MUFE is a line that was created for actual makeup ARTISTRY, as in fashion and theater, rather than every day. The line and it's products are used by makeup artists all the time, rather it be in show business, or creating theater makeup (wounds and gashes). So while purple blush and red eyeshadow seem strange to us, it's keeping with the main idea of the line, while being easily available for the public, and inspiring artists. Hope that answers your question :)

I tried the lavender blush because I wanted to play around with color, and thought I could use it as eyeshadow as well. I was wrong on both counts! But I do think the lavender blush idea would not work for everyday...just for fun, clubbing, fashion shows, etc.

THE PURPLE IS FOR YOUR EYES. THE PINK CAN BE BLENDED WITH IT- ADD SOME WHITE OR GOLD TO SOFTEN IT IF YOU MUST. THE RED- I BOUGHT FUSCHIA. CAN BE USED AS BLUSH FEATHER OUT WITH LOOSE POWDER.

I have light skin and thought this would look nice -
I was very mistaken -
It's awful -
There's no color to it at all, it's just all sheen and made my pores look bad.
I should've stuck with Nars and Mac.

Hi,

I use blushes as eye shadows all the time. Sometimes the blushes seem better than the shadows. I've never had a problem.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Question
Color?
I have been sing MAC blush in mocha for years, but you don't carry it. The site recommended I check out make up forever. The reviews are great but I have no idea what color I need. Any advice? I'm medium/fair, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair. I want something that will look natural that I can wear everyday with my bare essentials foundation. I don't wear a lot of make up, just blush and mascara.

Hi,

I just got my first MUFE blush in Antique Pink (Shade 74) which is either a pinky peach or a peachy pink, depending on how you look at it and how it reacts with the light. We're on a trip, and I tried this blush this afternoon. I really thought it looked more pink to me, but out in the sun, it seemed to change to a very beautiful healthy natural looking color, with the pink peach components more obvious is the sun. Why I'm recommending this color is that I have brown hair and brown eyes, and fair to pale skin. We're on vacation, and strangers actually came up to me and complimented me on my "peaches and cream" complexion. That's never happened to me before. It had to be the blush. It wasn't a pick up line or anything like that because this was done right in front of my husband and kids. It happened a few more times after that, with other people complimenting on my skin in various ways. Clearly this is a great color.

Hope this helps.

Both the powdered blushes and eyeshadows possess the same formula. They can be worn as blush or eyeshadow, they're dual purpose powders :).

For an evening classic look. I would do a natural color on the lid (vanilla smashbox) with a nice brown on the crease (brazilian bronze smashbox). Black eyeliner (diorshow has been my fav since it came out), too face mascara for thick long lashes. Reddish cheecks (just a hint of color on the apples, not too overwhelming- benefit has a very nice tint, and a tiny bit is all you need, lasting all night long). For the lips, 'legendary' by smashbox lipstick is perfect for fair skin. I always use my eyeshadow as blushes and vice versa. I play with everything in different ways. When it comes to make up, all rules should be broken ;)
