i used to use MAC's blot powder, but wanted to switch to something that was better for my skin. I don't wear foundation (and don't need it either) just something to make my face look fresh mid-day and something with the tiniest bit of color to liven me up (I'm very fair skinned)....this works perfect! Its the best replacement for a "blot powder"

This could be used similar to a blot powder but it really is not a dupe for one, if you are referring to MAC's blot powder. This has way more pigmentation than that product and this would be more likely to get cakey.

Yes, because this product is so light and gives great coverage it's perfect for touch ups. I rarely though never have to touch up with this product because I found that it lasts on my skin all day and I have combintation skin.

If by blot powder you mean spot treaments....... then yes it can. I have two compacts, one for my makeup bag and the other to keep in my purse for touch ups here and there. But, b/c this product is so great, I rarely have to touch up during the day or when I'm out at night. Hope this helps!

Seeing as this is a matte pressed powder and great for oily skins, using it as a blot powder is doable. I have never heard of a "blot powder" so I don't know if they make such a cosmetic. I have used blot cosmetic tissues before. However, you can browse their website to check it out.

It really depends on what type of coverage you need. It's a pretty sheer powder, so you might want to use a foundation under it. If you prefer powder foundation then this could be a substitute. It depends on your skin type.

I use both foundation and this, and I recommend putting on foundation first. I think that the powder alone is a little sheer, but if you have pretty flawless skin and don't need any foundation, I think that wearing it alone is fine.

I don't use foundation. I just use this powder alone. It does cover up any redness, caused by zits. If you use the foundation under, it will help cover up more. and it will help your make up last longer.

Its a sheer-coverage type of powder. If you want to wear foundation with it, put on the foundation first, and dust the powder over it.

Hey just FYI your light skin would probably look best with the stay -matte pressed powder in stay matte:-D My meduim skin I used the stay neutral and that color worked out good for me:) I know I was worried two about trying a new powder and didn't know what color would look good on me, but, I'm glad I went for it :) this powder is a miracle worker. It keeps me looking fresh and matte and doesn't build up after another application like others I have tried! Hope it works out for you, like it has done for me:)

It's not cakey at all, don't worry! I get really oily around my nose and I powder it with his pressed powder and what a difference! I only find that yuo probably have to replace the sponge frequently - as it does get dirty because of oil and sweat.

It does prevent shine, but can become cakey if used over perspiration. I recommend using blotting paper on T-zone before applying if skin is oily.

I've used this for many years and I use it as a "topper", a powder.
Clinique does offer some foundations that start as a liquid and dry to a powder finish.

This product is just powder. If you're looking for foundation-to-powder, you should try Benefit's Some-Kind-of-Gorgeous.

Question
Which one to use for combination skin
I haven't used clinique in about 5 years, I switched to MAC Studio Fix (more convient to buy), but now being pregnant my skin is breaking out with it. I want to switch back to clinque should I use Soft Finish Pressed Powder or Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder for combination skin. I have dry cheeks and nose, but lightly oily forehead.

I have an oily T-zone but it's nothing terrible. Sometimes my cheeks are "normal", sometimes they're a little drier.
I would suggest using the Stay-Matter Sheer Pressed Powder. I've been using this for years, even with breakouts. It does seem to help out with the oil spots without clogging pores and creating more pimples.

I don't think the Stay-Matte Pressed Powder is what you're looking for considering you only have a 'slightly' oily forehead and other 'dry' areas. It might cause some flakiness if applied where it's not needed.

Question
What color should I get?
I am Asian with olive skintone on the lighter side, especially now that summer is fading away. At my tannest, I was using Clinique Clarifying power makeup in Clarifying Honey Glow. Now I want to switch to Stay Matte since I have combination skin, but I don't know what color is the equivalent to the Clarifying Honey Glow. I need to go a shade or two lighter though, since my skintone is lightening with the coming of fall and winter. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

I think you would probably like the Stay Honey. I have a medium olive complexion similar to yours and I apply Stay Honey with a large powder brush (not the sponge that comes with this) and it's a nice natural sheer coverage. The Stay Beige was a big too light for me and made my face look a little "ghostly".

I have medium olive skin and use stay beige 03. This product is very sheer so it is forgiving. This is a great powder!
