Questions & Answers for Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush

Question
This vs. Bare Minerals Veil?
I just ordered the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil online, and even though it hasn't come yet I just saw this and it looks like it might be a better deal... I am debating returning the veil when it gets here since this comes with a brush and more product for less money, but first I want to know how the two products compare.
1. Has anyone tried this vs. the mineral veil? How do they compare?
2. Is this really sparkly? I read that in some reviews, but I'm not sure if I should believe them or not..
3. Is it cakey looking/does it look unnatural?
4. How is the texture/color of the transparent one? How would it work for setting concealer? Should I use it before/after luminizer?
Lots of questions, I know! Thanks!

this product is better than bare minerals because it doesn't shimmer at all plus it does last longer than the mineral veil, the brush is poor quality though, so I my advice is to purchase a powder brush. The bare minerals can also get streaky and very messy compared to clinique . Clinique powder really makes your skin look natural, like its glowing but bare minerals does appear to make your skin glow but if you dont like to look shimmery then dont buy bare minerals also the clinique powder has minerals enriched in this powder. I hope this helped and if you have any questions you can contact me on my youtube account beauty channel @ youtube.com/misssalyssssa.com

Right now I have both powders. I think BE mineral viel is a good product because it won't change the color of your foundation and is matte, but I have medium to dark skin so it can look chalky. I prefer Clinique blended face powder bc it has a very subtle soft shimmer and gives a nice glow. I use Clinique supermoisture makeup which is super dewy so I have to wait a few minutes and let my foundation completely dry, otherwise the blended face powder sticks to the skin unevenly. FYI the cute little travel brush is totally useless, so use your own brush!

Question
What color face powder?
I use Clinque Powder in Transparency #2 and it is too light. Would you recommend Invisable or going to Transparentcy 3 or 4?

Transparency 2 and Transparency Neutral are the same shade of makeup; however, Transparency 2 is slightly pinker and intended for people who have cool undertones to their skin (that is, pink undertones, rather than the "warm" gold-ish undertones that are more common). Transparency Neutral is a blend between cool and warm, and can be worn by people of either category. If you are not sure which color powder to buy if you have fair to medium skin, buy Transparency Neutral unless you know already that your skin contains cool undertones.

I would suggest Transparency Neutral. It's working well for my light/light-medium skin. If you're worried about buying a whole container and wasting the money - ask at your local Clinique counter for a small sample. Hope that helps!

My features are similar to yours, and I just purchased the Transparency neutral. It's not what I would have chosen online, but in store, an artist helped me and it was a dead match. Hope this helps!

I have pink undertones to my skin as well and find that some colors can turn yellow on me. Try the 08 Neutral - it has a great balance of color and only brings out your natural skin tone.

Question
How should I apply this product?
I never wear foundation, concealer, anything on my face-- I recently purchased the invisible blend just to even my skin tone-- how should I apply this most effectively? Do you reccomend buying a new brush instead of using the one it came with?

DO NOT use the brush this came with. It's poorly assembled, small and little fibers will wisp on to your face. The invisible blend will not even out your skin, just make it less shiny and more matte. This product is a MESS. It gets everywhere, it's terrible. I do NOT reccomened it. Instead, try the Clinique Moistuire Tint tinted moistuizer, it's sheer and evens out your skin very well without cakiness or anything extra. Very great product. If you DO buy this product though, get the next 2 shades up and use your own brush.

I had used two shades prior to this one. One was too dark and one was too light so I figured I would try the invisible blending shade. It is the only one that has matched my exact skin tone and I love it. I highly recommend trying the Invisible blend because it really matches your exact skin tone without appearing light or dark. Hope this helps!

Hmm, I have deep olive skin and this works pretty well. It blends in pretty colorlessly. Try buffing some on at a clinique counter or in a sephora store -- thats what I did -- to be positive. If your skin is very dark, I can see this maaybe being too light.

find the corresponding shade in Clinique Face powder. If you can't find the exact shade, go one shade lighter for winter and one shade darker for summer.
