Questions & Answers for Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush

Question
This vs. Bare Minerals Veil?
I just ordered the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil online, and even though it hasn't come yet I just saw this and it looks like it might be a better deal... I am debating returning the veil when it gets here since this comes with a brush and more product for less money, but first I want to know how the two products compare.
1. Has anyone tried this vs. the mineral veil? How do they compare?
2. Is this really sparkly? I read that in some reviews, but I'm not sure if I should believe them or not..
3. Is it cakey looking/does it look unnatural?
4. How is the texture/color of the transparent one? How would it work for setting concealer? Should I use it before/after luminizer?
Lots of questions, I know! Thanks!

I have tried both but i prefer this because it last longer and doesn't become oily and run my foundation by the end of the day.

this product is better than bare minerals because it doesn't shimmer at all plus it does last longer than the mineral veil, the brush is poor quality though, so I my advice is to purchase a powder brush. The bare minerals can also get streaky and very messy compared to clinique . Clinique powder really makes your skin look natural, like its glowing but bare minerals does appear to make your skin glow but if you dont like to look shimmery then dont buy bare minerals also the clinique powder has minerals enriched in this powder. I hope this helped and if you have any questions you can contact me on my youtube account beauty channel @ youtube.com/misssalyssssa.com

Right now I have both powders. I think BE mineral viel is a good product because it won't change the color of your foundation and is matte, but I have medium to dark skin so it can look chalky. I prefer Clinique blended face powder bc it has a very subtle soft shimmer and gives a nice glow. I use Clinique supermoisture makeup which is super dewy so I have to wait a few minutes and let my foundation completely dry, otherwise the blended face powder sticks to the skin unevenly. FYI the cute little travel brush is totally useless, so use your own brush!

If the ingredients list is correct according to the previous answer, everyone should research at LEAST the two following ingredients before they purchase.
Bismuth Oxychloride and Phenoxyethanl

I have also had reactions to BE products, but never had a problem with this loose powder. It also does not contain zinc oxide which I typically have a reaction to.

Question
What color should I get this powder in?
I have medium light golden beige skin and I don't know what color to get this powder in. I have heard that this powder runs light in colors, so I don't know which color to choose. Is the transparent color really transparent, or does it make your skin look light? If it helps I am 'Fresh Neutral' for clinique acne solutions.

Most days I only wear this powder. It does set concealer and foundation well, but you don't have to use either one to use this powder.

I was worried about color so I use the invisible blend - and guess what? Perfect! It really is invisible. My skin is fair, with a decent amount of freckles (more in the summer) and I do get red blotchiness. On top of my foundation this gives a nice finish and I haven't had any issues with coverage.

These powders are transparent and can easily be used for any skin. Since you already use Fresh Neutral in the Acne Solutions line, we would suggest trying Transparency Neutral or Transparency 3.

Transparency 2 and Transparency Neutral are the same shade of makeup; however, Transparency 2 is slightly pinker and intended for people who have cool undertones to their skin (that is, pink undertones, rather than the "warm" gold-ish undertones that are more common). Transparency Neutral is a blend between cool and warm, and can be worn by people of either category. If you are not sure which color powder to buy if you have fair to medium skin, buy Transparency Neutral unless you know already that your skin contains cool undertones.

I would suggest Transparency Neutral. It's working well for my light/light-medium skin. If you're worried about buying a whole container and wasting the money - ask at your local Clinique counter for a small sample. Hope that helps!

Try transparency 3. It's one of the darkest but even if your skin is light, it will still blend perfectly with your olive complexion!

Transparency #3 works best for me-it has more olive tones than #2 or neutral (which are a bit rosy), and I found #4 and #4 Plus to be too dark. The invisible powder is a safe bet if you are unsure; it works for all skin otnes.

I haven't tried the invisble blend but fro mwhat i've read, it is definitely invisible.

It is 1.2 oz.

The invisible blend is invisible on me but I am very fair so I cannot say if it works for darker tones. If you have a medium skintone I would try Neutral or 3.

Question
Blended face powder or sheer matte powder?
I have a med./tan skin tone and pretty oily skin, thats why i want to find a good powder. My face makeup consists of a little concealer on any prob areas and i use my 'stay matte sheer pressed powder' in Stay Honey with a kabuki brush to contour cheeks and nose, a little on forehead and chin for a healthy tan look. would this powder provide the same coverage and set my concealer even better? if so, what color to pick?

If you find this powder and concealor don't provide enough coverage I would switch to a powder/concealor makeup. The sephora brand has a really good one for oily skin (can't remember the name rite now) and you can check with one of the people on the floor but I use D10... hope this helps!

This powder would be better for you since the coverage is very buildable without getting cakey like a pressed powder can if you apply too much.

Question
Blended face powder, or the stay-matte sheer pressed powder?
I have really oily skin. I hate looking cakey, and that is why i am having second thoughts about the stay matte sheer pressed powder.

Which is better, especially for putting on after foundation?

Either of them are good just depends on the situation- I like to use the pressed powder around my eyes and mouth but loose powder everywhere else. They will give you the same look and effect using a large powder brush instead of the pad provided

I've discovered that you're less likely to look "cakey" with loose powder rather than pressed powder
I don't know the reasoning behind this, maybe because you alway pick up the same amount of product with a pressed pad rather than a powder brush which you can control easier.
