YES! It causes me to get large under the skin pimples right on my cheekbones where I apply it. If your skin isn't oily you might be alright, but if it is watch out!

Stila offers it in a silvery off white color (shade 1) on their website. I love how the gold looks on my medium/warm skin tone, but I do question if this is the best shade for a fair/cool skin tone - Benefit's High or Moon Beam may be better in that case (or the shade 1 of this product on Stila's site).

I've heard that it comes in a #9 Kitten, which is a light shimmery pinkish champagne color.

I have seen this also in "luminous silvery off-white," but i think Sephora only sells the gold.

It only comes in luminous gold, but I think it would go great on any skin color. Its a very subtle shine, but its still visible.

Question
Liquid Luminizer
I am 50 years old and am looking for best products for my face that will not hi-light wrinkles. Is stila liquid luminizer supposed to be used in place of foundation. If not, what do I need for foundation for someone who is partially dry on cheeks and forehead and somewhat oily around nose and chin area?

No this definitely cannot be used in place of foundation. It is a shimmery highlighter that can be used on cheekbones, brow bones, inner eye corners, or any place you want to catch the light. You can mix this with your foundation for an added glow.

Any skin type can use a highlighter. It's all about placement. You don't wear it all over, just in areas to draw the light to. Think of it this way, adding a lighter highlighter to your face brings light to the area, so the eye will look there immediately. I use a highlighter to highlight my brow bone, the inside corner of my eyes, and my cheekbones. A liquid like this one, I wouldn't recommend near the inner corner of your eyes, it might be a little difficult to apply in that area. If I use it there, I usually use a small amount on my finger or on a concealer brush.

I don't use it in place of foundation, I use it to highlight certain features like my browbones or the apples of my cheeks. If you are going for an oil-free foundation, you can try Benefit's Some Kind Of Gorgeous or LORAC's Breakthrough Performance Foundation w/SPF protection and anti-aging complex.

Question
Is this product complimenting for darker skin tones?
I am a medium/ olive toned bi-racial woman. I see this luminizer is only available in one shade. I'm wondering if this product would work for me, or if it appears ashy on olive-darker toned skin. Anyone know?

I am very fair toned, so that may effect the look, but once I blended this product into my skin, I had no color added. It is very shimmery, but doesn't really add any color.

I am a medium/tan toned person but, I have to say that this luminizer compliments almost any skin tone. My friends (of varying skin tones) have used this luminizer and works just as well for them. I'm sure the color would compliment your skintone as well. The luminizer also gives a sheer and subtle glow and has never looked ashy on me. I would definitely try it!

It is a light, shimmery golden color that gives a beautiful glow. I'm not sure if it is oil free or not, but I have never had a problem with this product clogging my pores and causing breakouts.

The color is gold, but its very light and the shimmer is gold too. All in all its a very good product. I don't think its oil free but you can control how much you want to apply b/c of the brush. I have oily skin and it doesn't seem to disrupt my face.

I wouldn't use it all over my face. Gorgeous on cheekbones, shoulders, decolletage -- but just a tab and be careful of a demarcation line, blend edges out well.

Question
Which one should I choose: bronzer, shimmer, liquid luminizer or blush??
I am trying to get the makeup products I need to have my wedding makeup done at a destination wedding (July 4, hot weather). I have olive skin, brown eyes and my skin has a tendency to get dry. I don't wear foundation. For the wedding makeup I have been advised to use the smashbox primer (green coulour) and powder (no foundation). Do you think I would need to add any of the above to complete my wedding look?

Thank you,
Mirela

I think you should get bronzer and this liquid luminizer. Both will be needed to contour your cheeks and give you an amazing wedding glow. You can apply this shimmery liquid luminizer to your cheekbones, brow bones, inner corners of the eyes, or any place you want to catch the light. Then, apply bronzer on your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin (the places the sun would naturally tan your face) to add a sunkissed glow.

This product can be used on many places of your body as a highlighter and to give a nice glow. I have used it on my cheekbones, cupid's bow, collarbones and even on my shins to give my legs a nice sheen. This application can be a little messy but, I must say a little goes a long way. I found it best to put a little from the brush, on the area you want to highlight, and applying it in dots. Once you have applied the little dots of luminizer I simply blend with my finger. I find this works best.

You don't need very much. Start just by using it on your cheeks. Then if you like, add a bit to the highpoints on your face, but go steady because it is pretty concentrated. Note this is real shimmery, and I don't know how conservative your workplace is. Just try a touch on each cheek to start with.

Play with it, you'll get ideas once you get it, but to avoid this or your m/u sliding off, I would be sure to use a primer first.

If you apply to much of the luminizer to an area then yes your skin will appear oily. It just takes a short amount of time to learn to apply it properly and get the perfect glow. If you have a very oily t-zone I would not recommend applying it to that area at all. But you will find so many uses for the product once you recieve it it is 100% worth the money!
