Stila offers it in a silvery off white color (shade 1) on their website. I love how the gold looks on my medium/warm skin tone, but I do question if this is the best shade for a fair/cool skin tone - Benefit's High or Moon Beam may be better in that case (or the shade 1 of this product on Stila's site).

Any skin type can use a highlighter. It's all about placement. You don't wear it all over, just in areas to draw the light to. Think of it this way, adding a lighter highlighter to your face brings light to the area, so the eye will look there immediately. I use a highlighter to highlight my brow bone, the inside corner of my eyes, and my cheekbones. A liquid like this one, I wouldn't recommend near the inner corner of your eyes, it might be a little difficult to apply in that area. If I use it there, I usually use a small amount on my finger or on a concealer brush.

I am very fair toned, so that may effect the look, but once I blended this product into my skin, I had no color added. It is very shimmery, but doesn't really add any color.

I bought this after a lovely Sephora associate contoured and highlighted my face. She first applied a liquid foundation, then dusted an extremely light powder, and after applying contour and blush, she simply blotted a couple drops where needed and spread it out with her fingers. No blending or brush needed, she just applied it by hand - and it looked great!!

i had the same problem... i did not want a shimmer that was too sparkly, so the stila luminizer came out to be perfect, because it blends in really naturally. the shimmer it self it sparkly but when you blend it on your skin it gives you that glowing look if you want.
