Yes the acids in the pads will help exfoliate and fade sunspots to a degree. But if your spots and scarring are bad, use a product with quinone in it to truly lighten.

can't speak for sunspots but it does help even out redness after a few uses.

this product does help with hyperpigmentation because it essentially exfoliates your skin, but the effect is very gradual.

I have a difficult time with pigmentation after a breakout clears up. Sometimes its weeks before the color is balanced out. I have noticed a slight improvement in this condition since using these pads. But this product is better at reducing pores than correcting pigmentation.

I don't have sun spots, but it has begun to fade old acne scars and I suspect it would do the same on other skin pigmintation issues.

Ingredients are not strong enough for hyperpigmentation, unless they are very light and very recent.

Question
Will you break out once you stop using this?
I used this 2 times and noticed a few blemishes popping up on my clear skin. Scared that it might become worse, I exchanged it. Now, that I've fully stopped using it, I see a pool of blemish spots on my cheeks ="( Do you think this happened after I discontinued using this product? What should I do?

This can happen after using any new product. Especially ones that claim to remove built in grime. I am pretty confident that the pads were bringing out what was way underneath your skin. Which is a good thing! Just pick one product and stick with it. That should clear up your outbreak. I had a similar experience when I started using this pads on my back. Several large blemishes, but now they're gone.

The break outs are just the product working. If you have very congested pores, the ingredients in this product are just bringing all the gunk trapped inside your pores to the surface so they can eventually be clear. Be patient. Clearing your skin is a process.

I've noticed if I don't moisturize after using a pad my skin produces more oil the next day...for me these strip my skin, and it needs to be replenished.

I don't think you will. Sometimes I feel I am using it too much, so I give myself some time between uses and like my skin doesn't get itchy. I have been using it for a little over a month and I think it's working great, it's much better than some leading brand acne stuff.

That may happen to anything you start using for the first time. It depends entirely on how your body reacts to it. Your situation never happened to me when I started using it way back, but like I said, it depends on how your body reacts to it. If you don't see a vast improvement after usage, I would say don't use it.

I have used an OTC 2.5% face wash with these pads. Can be done. Not sure it's necessary though. These pads cleanse your face, tighten up your skin, and remove oiliness.

I use it in addition to the AcneFree Cleansing System (2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide), and it's worked wonders! I use the AcneFree Cleanser first, then the toner, then the Correction Pads, and then the repair lotion. I am so pleased with this product, haven't had a single breakout since I started using it!

I wouldn't - there is a warning on the jar not to use the pads with other topical acne medications because excessive dryness or irritation can occur. Unless you have really resilient skin, I guess!

Hi Vicky678,
After cleansing, wipe pad all over face using the rougher side of the pad first, followed with the smoother side. Wait a few minutes, apply a thin layer of benzoyl peroxide to "problem areas." Finish with moisturizer and don't forget SPF.
Hope that helps!

Question
Can you use with a retinol product?
I currently use Philosophy's Help Me after cleansing and before moisturizer at night. It's helped reduce breakouts and with skin clarity but I still have lots of stubborn blackheads. The reviews on this are great and am wondering if I can add it in before the retinol product at night or if this would replace it.

I would just use one of these in the morning, no need to use it at night. Layering too many products at night can have the reverse effect.

answer 3
Retinol and glycolic acid should never be used together; they will cancel each other out. Best to wait 30 minutes between applications if you must use both at the same time. Or, use the glycolic acid product in the AM and the retinol in the PM (since retinol can make the skin more sensitive to the sun).

answer 4
Dermatologists generally agree retinoids should not be used at the same time as AHA (glycolic acid) or BHA (salicylic acid) because the retinoid can be inactivated. Since your skin benefits from all of these active ingredients, I wouldn't replace one with the other and instead would find a way to either use one product in the morning and the other at night or alternate days. I do the latter because my sensitive skin can't handle relatively harsh products morning and night, and retinoids ideally should not be used during the day (sun can make it less effective). I use the Complexion Correction Pads and then spot treat with benzoyl peroxide one night (plus sensitive skin moisturizer). The next night I use something with retinol (plus more moisturizer). In the mornings I just use an antioxidant serum like SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic and a moisturizer with sunscreen. Twice a week I use a microdermabrasion scrub. This regimen keeps my acne-prone and sensitive skin clear and happy, but make sure your skin can take all of that!

This product does not need to be rinsed.

Here are directions:

After cleansing with the appropriate cleanser depending on skin type, wipe pad all over face using the rougher side of the pad first followed with the smoother side. Pads can also be used to freshen up after exercising.

Question
Does anyone use this in the morning too or only at night due to shineness it gives?
This is only my second night using the pads but my face is completely greasy looking since I used these. I haven't used them long enough to know if this will go away but I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I am only using these at night for now since I don't want to walk around in the summer heat pre-greased. Prior to using these I used Bliss Mattifying Toner pads and never had this reaction to them. Thanks guys!

Try using a moisturizer after to counter balance the shine. The pads strips the skin of all it's "yuck" (including your natural oil) so replenish it with some health goodness.

It should be OK. You're not putting a bunch of chemicals on your face since the only active ingredient is salicylic acid, which is gentle on your face. I have sensitive skin and I also still exfoliate 1-2 times a week

I honestly think that one's skin adjusts to exfoliation levels, so you'd probably be fine if you worked your way into it. However, should you ever decrease that level of exfoliation you may experience some backlash, that can result in clogged pores or (gasp!) acne breakouts! I love exfoliating too, so enjoy!

We suggest using the cleanser side of the pad and then the exfoliator side. This way you are cleansing the skin first then exfoliating and residue or dead skin cells that remain behind.
