Questions & Answers for Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara

Question
Will this mascara affect the look of my eyelashes in a bad way?
I have long, thick naturally curled lashes and I do not use much mascara on my lashes but will this mascara benefit my lashes or clump them up? I don't like the "overly" done and thick effect on my lashes. Natural looking lashes is what I like.

This product didn't clump at all in my experience, and I am on my second tube. However this mascara really lengthens your lashes. So if you already have long eyelashes maybe you should instead concentrate on a mascara that will give you volume (which is not this mascara) since this might make your already long lashes look a bit fake or showy.

I think this would be a perfect mascara for you. It doesn't clump, and provides a clean, natural look while still looking like you have mascara on.
And you know Sephora, if it isn't for you, they'll take it back. Try it!

I believe that you will ge tthe effect that you are lookingfor with this mascara; it's def a natural looking mascara w/ one or two sweeps ofthe brush. I, on the other hand, like my eyelashes to pop so I have to run the brush over my eyelashes a few times to get that effect.

Nope. It is actually one of the better mascaras I have used. In Dior, I would always get little flakes under my eyes during a stressful day but not with this one. And Dior kinda irritated my eyes too if I slept in it overnight but this one doesn't. The only time I had slight itchiness was when I accidentally applied some of this mascara too far inside my bottom lashes and it irritated my eyes just a bit but after washing it out, it was not a problem.

The mascara formula is very stable and doesn't flake. My skin is hypersensitive, so I cannot wear anything irritating like SPF lotions, etc, and this mascara hasn't irritated my eyes at all. However, I will note that when it's humid outside, it does tend to run a bit, so I would definitely use a light waterproof topcoat to ensure all-day wear.

I like Tarte's LCL better than Buxom. I find Buxom dries out quickly and can be clumpy at times. The brush for Tarte is easier to use than the fatter brush from Buxom. I find it easy to get the small lashes in the inside corners.

I wear all of bare minerals makeup except the mascara now. I like this better. I did not like buxom's brush. I like this one because it is very narrow at tip to get the inside lashes. Stays all day, washes off easily with bare minerals cleanser. Has not clumped up once.

This mascara is awful! There is no resistance when the wand is pulled out and it comes out with huge clumps of gummy mascara that gets worse each time you use it! You end up wiping $20 of mascara off onto tissues. It also flakes something awful and makes lashes look very clumpy and not natural at all!

Question
blue/green eyes, blonde hair - what color mascara, eyeliner, shadow?
I'm a natural blonde (strands varying from light to dirty blonde) and have blue eyes with some green in them. I have been trying forever to figure out what the best colors to use around my eyes are. I'm not a huge fan of eyeliner, but I would love to find the perfect mascara. What color should I go with?Any suggestions of a specific brand? And what liner and shadow would compliment? I am fair skinned with light hair and blue/green eyes. I use the Tarte mascara in black as my lashes are almost blonde. The Lights, Camera Lashes mascara is not clumpy at all so you can apply several layers if you like to darken up light lashes. For eyeliner, I use the Buxom eyeliner pencil in Emerald, then smudge it just a little for a softer line. In summer I use a mint green or aqua eye shadow on the lid. Have fun!!

I recently purchased the Tarte TEN Limited Edition Collector's Palette. These colors were really stepping outside my comfort zone because they seemed dark and dramatic. However, with a couple of lessons at the Beauty Bar I learned how to apply for day and night in a few combinations. This palette came with the awesome mascara, and a two sided eye liner. I love the feel of the shadows and they stay on all day.

tarte, lights camera action mascara would be great. it coats easily so there won't be any blonde/light brown eye lash roots. go with black mascara...unless you want to go for a "i'm no wearing makeup look." redheads are the only ones that i would use brown mascara on.

i have dirty blonde hair, blue/green eyes, and fair skin. to make my eyes pop, use purple shadow or eyeliner. stay away from blues! browns, bronze, and copper will also make your eyes pop (orange and blue are opposite on the color wheel...). if you'd like more indepth advice, i would purchase the book by carmindy (she is the makeup artist on "what not to wear") called "the 5 minute face." it gives specific tips on the appropriate colors for you based on hair color and skin tone. good luck

As far as colors go for light haired/skinned people like us, I have found that the pastel colors are the most flattering and the easiest to blend and match. Pinks (of varying degrees) are a staple in my beauty box as well as lavender, purple blue (both dark and light) as well as yellow. I use the colors depending on what I wear and how light my hair/skin is that day.
As far as eye liner again stay away from reds, dark greens in fact stay away from any dark color except for black of course. I find that I can use my eye shadow for an under eye highlighter and black eyeliner for my upper lash line. I love the Sephora brand that is a liquid and has an applicator brush. The eye liner is called long-lasting eye liner and the Sephora number is: 92930. Use caution though, it easily runs and can be applied in too big a swash. First wipe the brush off on the inside of the bottle before you apply it to your eye. When you do apply it, use very gentle pressure, at least till you get a feel for what you are doing then you can use any method you see fit for you.
I truly hope this has helped and good luck. I just wish I had a big sister or girlfriend who could have given me this advice when I started wearing makeup. Have fun sis.

well i have brown eyes but i also use green contacts sometimes...
plum generally looks better on brown eyes (another reviewer says green but watever)
if your eyes are mostly green use a gold liner/shadow or double line with a black then gold. generally green eyes have some gold flecks and this will help them stand out. but since your blonde i think this will also help the more light or golden strands of hair stand out also
if your eyes are more blue try a more copper-ish tint. it looks amazing and really i think if you whant the darker blond strands to stand out use this.
ummm for mascara use black... personally i use the blinc kiss me mascara and even if you have blonde lashes this will look great.
also for some bold shadows try make up forever, urban decay, and too faced has a very nice plate called naked eye that i LOVE.
hope i helped :)

I have blue/green eyes too and dirty blonde hair as well. I find that gold, pink, or brown eyeshadows will make blue eyes POP. For gold, Urban Decay has an endless variety of GREAT quality golds and browns, I like baked, or twice baked, it may seem intense but it looks great on eyes. For pinks, try the Loreal H.I.P pink and black eye shadow duo, it's great. Also tans, or shimmery shadows would make your eyes pop. For mascara i suggest Dior Brand "black out" ,or "Iconic" or Tarte's "Lights camera, Lashes".

Before switching to naturals, I was a huge Lancome fan (for at least 20 years). Definicils is a great mascara, Tarte is just as good with the benefit of being "natural" . I was devoted to Lancome Defincils for YEARS. Then I developed an allergy to it and was devastated that I couldn't use it anymore. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was forced to find something else that was a more natural, gentler formula. Little did I know that my quest for something new would lead me to something far superior - I think. Given the choice, I would never go back to Lancome now. I love this mascara. It doesn't smudge or run. You practically have to yell at it to get it off at the end of even a loooong day.

I have never had this mascara smudge or run. Sometimes I forget that I have mascara on and will rub my eyes. Even when I do that, it doesn't smudge, it just turns into a fine powder and can be brushed off of your face and may even come off all on its own.

This mascarra is the Happy Holiday answer for NO SMUGE, and washes off easy, I wish I could send you the money to buy one and just see how happy you'll be with it. I use baby bath soap to wash it off I am just so happy to finally find a mascarra that is healthy, loads on, and no smug, and great all day wear. love sissy

Not unless you're swimming or in a kickboxing class. I have never experienced clumps or flaking and would recommend Lights, Camera Splashes if you want budge/smudge-proof.

I have used this mascara for about 4 months and I have yet for it to run or smudge. Once it dries it is there until you want it off.

Water soluble but tough. I use one of those Japenese magic get-makeup-off- your-face cloths and it comes off with warm water.

I curl before applying and this mascara does extremely well with curling. Sometimes if i know i will be out a while i curl after applying and all i can say is WOW. If you want to try it out, they have a kit that comes with an eyelash curler and a trial size of this mascara for 15$. :D

I would use a waterproof mascara if you're looking for your lashes to really hold curl. Try Tarte MultiplEYE Clinically-Proven Lash Enhancing Waterproof Mascara. It actually washes off very easy for being a waterproof mascara, and because it is waterproof it will hold curl better.

I think it ultimately depends on how the person's eyelashes are. I have extremely straight and stubborn eyelashes. When I applied this product i curld my eyelashes and applied the mascara after. Once it dried my eyelashes started drooping and then I had to curl them multiple times. So if you have very stubborn eyelashes like mine, I don't recommend this product.

I haven't found a mascara yet that curls well. I always have to recurl after application, but it seems to hold fairly well after the recurl.

I never use a lash curler and this mascara makes lashes look just as good as false lashes. It seems to naturally curl and is long-lasting and beautiful.
