It does flake! I don't like it. Maybe it wouldn't flake if you used a primer. No stinging or watery eyes though.

No it lasts all day and you can add to it before you go out at night for even bigger lashes without it flaking under your eyes.

answer 4
Nope. It is actually one of the better mascaras I have used. In Dior, I would always get little flakes under my eyes during a stressful day but not with this one. And Dior kinda irritated my eyes too if I slept in it overnight but this one doesn't. The only time I had slight itchiness was when I accidentally applied some of this mascara too far inside my bottom lashes and it irritated my eyes just a bit but after washing it out, it was not a problem.

answer 6
The mascara formula is very stable and doesn't flake. My skin is hypersensitive, so I cannot wear anything irritating like SPF lotions, etc, and this mascara hasn't irritated my eyes at all. However, I will note that when it's humid outside, it does tend to run a bit, so I would definitely use a light waterproof topcoat to ensure all-day wear.

Question
Will this mascara affect the look of my eyelashes in a bad way?
I have long, thick naturally curled lashes and I do not use much mascara on my lashes but will this mascara benefit my lashes or clump them up? I don't like the "overly" done and thick effect on my lashes. Natural looking lashes is what I like.

This product didn't clump at all in my experience, and I am on my second tube. However this mascara really lengthens your lashes. So if you already have long eyelashes maybe you should instead concentrate on a mascara that will give you volume (which is not this mascara) since this might make your already long lashes look a bit fake or showy.

I believe that you will ge tthe effect that you are lookingfor with this mascara; it's def a natural looking mascara w/ one or two sweeps ofthe brush. I, on the other hand, like my eyelashes to pop so I have to run the brush over my eyelashes a few times to get that effect.

I like Tarte's LCL better than Buxom. I find Buxom dries out quickly and can be clumpy at times. The brush for Tarte is easier to use than the fatter brush from Buxom. I find it easy to get the small lashes in the inside corners.

I wear all of bare minerals makeup except the mascara now. I like this better. I did not like buxom's brush. I like this one because it is very narrow at tip to get the inside lashes. Stays all day, washes off easily with bare minerals cleanser. Has not clumped up once.

Question
blue/green eyes, blonde hair - what color mascara, eyeliner, shadow?
I'm a natural blonde (strands varying from light to dirty blonde) and have blue eyes with some green in them. I have been trying forever to figure out what the best colors to use around my eyes are. I'm not a huge fan of eyeliner, but I would love to find the perfect mascara. What color should I go with?Any suggestions of a specific brand? And what liner and shadow would compliment? My skin is a light tan, with rosy hints. Thanks for any advice!!

I'm a natural blonde too, and for the color of mascara -- I can say that for years I've worn dark brown or brown-black thinking that black would look too harsh with my fair skin and blonde hair (blonde lashes naturally too). But I recently started wearing black mascara and think it looks great. Doesn't appear too harsh at all.

I am fair skinned with light hair and blue/green eyes. I use the Tarte mascara in black as my lashes are almost blonde. The Lights, Camera Lashes mascara is not clumpy at all so you can apply several layers if you like to darken up light lashes. For eyeliner, I use the Buxom eyeliner pencil in Emerald, then smudge it just a little for a softer line. In summer I use a mint green or aqua eye shadow on the lid. Have fun!!

I recently purchased the Tarte TEN Limited Edition Collector's Palette. These colors were really stepping outside my comfort zone because they seemed dark and dramatic. However, with a couple of lessons at the Beauty Bar I learned how to apply for day and night in a few combinations. This palette came with the awesome mascara, and a two sided eye liner. I love the feel of the shadows and they stay on all day.

tarte, lights camera action mascara would be great. it coats easily so there won't be any blonde/light brown eye lash roots. go with black mascara...unless you want to go for a "i'm no wearing makeup look." redheads are the only ones that i would use brown mascara on.

i have dirty blonde hair, blue/green eyes, and fair skin. to make my eyes pop, use purple shadow or eyeliner. stay away from blues! browns, bronze, and copper will also make your eyes pop (orange and blue are opposite on the color wheel...). if you'd like more indepth advice, i would purchase the book by carmindy (she is the makeup artist on "what not to wear") called "the 5 minute face." it gives specific tips on the appropriate colors for you based on hair color and skin tone. good luck

As far as colors go for light haired/skinned people like us, I have found that the pastel colors are the most flattering and the easiest to blend and match. Pinks (of varying degrees) are a staple in my beauty box as well as lavender, purple blue (both dark and light) as well as yellow. I use the colors depending on what I wear and how light my hair/skin is that day.
As far as eye liner again stay away from reds, dark greens in fact stay away from any dark color except for black of course. I find that I can use my eye shadow for an under eye highlighter and black eyeliner for my upper lash line. I love the Sephora brand that is a liquid and has an applicator brush. The eye liner is called long-lasting eye liner and the Sephora number is: 92930. Use caution though, it easily runs and can be applied in too big a swash. First wipe the brush off on the inside of the bottle before you apply it to your eye. When you do apply it, use very gentle pressure, at least till you get a feel for what you are doing then you can use any method you see fit for you.
I truly hope this has helped and good luck. I just wish I had a big sister or girlfriend who could have given me this advice when I started wearing makeup. Have fun sis.

well i have brown eyes but i also use green contacts sometimes...
plum generally looks better on brown eyes (another reviewer says green but watever)
if your eyes are mostly green use a gold liner/shadow or double line with a black then gold. generally green eyes have some gold flecks and this will help them stand out. but since your blonde i think this will also help the more light or golden strands of hair stand out also
if your eyes are more blue try a more copper-ish tint. it looks amazing and really i think if you whant the darker blond strands to stand out use this.
ummm for mascara use black... personally i use the blinc kiss me mascara and even if you have blonde lashes this will look great.
also for some bold shadows try make up forever, urban decay, and too faced has a very nice plate called naked eye that i LOVE.
hope i helped :)

I have blue/green eyes too and dirty blonde hair as well. I find that gold, pink, or brown eyeshadows will make blue eyes POP. For gold, Urban Decay has an endless variety of GREAT quality golds and browns, I like baked, or twice baked, it may seem intense but it looks great on eyes. For pinks, try the Loreal H.I.P pink and black eye shadow duo, it's great. Also tans, or shimmery shadows would make your eyes pop. For mascara i suggest Dior Brand "black out" ,or "Iconic" or Tarte's "Lights camera, Lashes".

Before switching to naturals, I was a huge Lancome fan (for at least 20 years). Definicils is a great mascara, Tarte is just as good with the benefit of being "natural" . Key difference - is that you can layer a little better with definicil and it lenghtens just a bit more, but all in all, Tarte does a really good job.

I was devoted to Lancome Defincils for YEARS. Then I developed an allergy to it and was devastated that I couldn't use it anymore. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was forced to find something else that was a more natural, gentler formula. Little did I know that my quest for something new would lead me to something far superior - I think. Given the choice, I would never go back to Lancome now. I love this mascara. It's worth trying it - it's cheaper than Lancome too.

While it won't leave mascara marks streaming down your face, if you've been crying, and sort of blot your lashes with a tissue, it will come off a little bit. Lights, Camera, Lashes is a great mascara all around. Never clumpy, leaves your lashes with a lot of definition and separation (not that spidery look) and stays on all day without flaking off. It's not a dramatic mascara like Diorshow, but I think of it as an everyday, going-to-the-office mascara. Plus, it leaves your lashes healthier! If you're not convinced, go to your local Sephora and try some on!

Tarte does make this product in a waterproof formula as well called "Lights, Camera, Splashes!" I also have never used the waterproof formula as I try to stay away from them unless I'm going to a wedding, funeral, etc.

I would suggest with any mascara that you try to dry/wipe off your lashes of any eyeshadow, lotion, or other product that could have gotten on them while applying the rest of your makeup. Mascara is the last product I apply. I just blink them against a hand towel right before applying my mascara. It may not completely solve the problem, but it does help. ;)

When you're applying the mascara it gets underneath your lashes quite a bit but it doesn't really come off throughout the day. Worth a try!

Never had that problem with this mascara. After my initial application it stays put and it's long-lasting. No smudges or running in sight. P.S. My lashes are fairly long.

No.
I keep 1 tube of waterproof mascara (another manufacturer) for the beach or pool...I don't use it often as I believe there is some toxicity with waterproof mascara.

Question
How much length and volume?
Hello! I really want to try this mascara because it's natural, but I'm kinda wishy-washy. I LOVE huge lashes (just as a hint, I usually wear 2-3 layers of the newest Big Fatty daily...so, yeah...), and prefer thick, buildable volume from a mascara. The two things I'm desperate for are volume and length, and I would enjoy some curl. So, what do you think? Is it really dramatic? Thanks for your time and opinion!!

Don't even question it. You will be so happy with this product. My miter has the smallest little lashes and they instantly lengthened them. You will not regret it I promise! It adds so much length and volume. Personally my favorite and I've tried very thing from drug store I high end and I've tried tons of brands. I've never been happier with a a mascara

This is my first time using Tarte. I did by a large (24) collection which included the mascara along with blushes. I really like the shadows but the surprise was the mascara. I did apply two coats, which went on creamy, dried quickly and my lashes didn't feel heavy and didn't flake.

This mascara is definitely a little heavier and 'wetter' than other mascaras I've used, so my eyelashes can handle 2 coats of it, but if I try a 3rd coat, my lashes will start to lose their curl. You get good volume and length with the 2 coats though, I suppose it's just not as 'buildable' as other mascaras out there.

This mascara is definitely good for length and the plus is that it conditions them and keeps them healthy. I find that it is not super volumzing, but on nights when I want to plump them up, I just swipe a little waterproof mascara on after I have put this on and then they are dramatic for sure!!!!

I wouldn't recommend this mascara at all. I love super thick, dramatic lashes and I was very disappointed. It adds very little volume, flakes, and actually looks dry on my lashes. I didn't think it was possible for a mascara to do that, but apparently it is! My favorite is Lancome Hypnose. It's advertised as a buildable volume mascara, and it really is! My lashes look so dramatic, with lots of volume and a glossy finish. Unfortunately it's a little more expensive than the Tarte mascara, but it's worth it!
