I have to disagree with the other reviewers. I love marzipan and almonds, and I promise that this smells like neither. I was anticipating a warm herbal smell, but the truth is this smells a little cloying, like a synthetic candied tween perfume. The smell isn't awful though, and while it does linger on your skin, it does so softly and sweetly. If you can overlook the syrupy- not sure what this fragrance is- quality while you're using it, the net result is a really sexy skin scent which will blend very well with other fragrances.

It's impossible to describe...you have to smell it yourself. I suggest you go to the l'Occitane website and order a trial size (if Sephora does not stock that size). Also, if there is a l'Occitane boutique in your area, try checking it out there. That's how I found it..went in to get the plain milk soap (which is also awesome) and my husband called me over and that was it.
Good luck!

It is a subtle sent, not flowery, kind of like almonds. I've never smelled anything quite like it before, think more towards a vanilla/nut smell rather than a flowery, citrus, or woodsy smell. I was kind of indifferent to the smell at first, but I like it more over time.

This is a cleansing product; it also serves as a great shaving cream. When using as a cleanser, I apply with a washcloth; I use my hands to apply for shaving. If you are looking for a terrific moisturizing oil, please try L'Occitane's Supple Skin Oil - it is terrific (and paired with the Shower Oil, will make dry, itchy skin a distant memory!).

This product is a shower body wash. It looks like an oil, but turns into a soft lather in the shower. You will get more lather if you use a puff or washcloth. It smells like an almond tart and will give you really soft skin afterwards.

I can't smell peppermint in this blend. But the scent is strong, with flavors of fresh hay, grass, oatmeal, and similar notes. This is definitely not a "smellum" sort of product. The fragrance is appropriate, but not overwhelming or chemical.

Question
Does this cleansing oil make your tub or tub mat slippery at all?
Description states it transforms into a foam. I plan to use it with a bath "net" as reviews say I'll get a better amount of foam; fear of slip and fall. Also, does it leave a residue on the bottom of the tub or mat?

I have not found the product to make the tub mat slippery. It is fast-rinsing and seems to rinse completely. Never had any concern or problem about slipping, and I'm an old man (59) with bad balance, so this is also a concern or issue I face. So far, no problems at all.

There has been no residue on my tub. Although it calls itself an "oil", it's not really oily at all. It's silky, but rinses clean and your skin will even "squeak" when rinsed thoroughly. Hope this helps, I really like it and love the scent.

This product is a very light oil and it lathers wonderfully. You only need a little bit and is not oily enough to leave a residue in your tube unless you use way too much. I use about a nickel size drop on my shower puff which is plenty.

I recommend the almond oil, even though I've never tried the other. Better yet, put a little bit of the almond oil on your (dry) arms, legs, and torso, and then get into the warm bath water and relax. You'll use a little less for the same effect. The oil will slowly diffuse off your skin and into the water, making a fragrant bath. You can also combine the shower oil with a bubble bath (using the bubble bath as usual, not on your skin).

I put it directly onto my skin in the shower. It's great to shave with as it lets the razor slide over your skin and leaves your legs silky smooth. When you add water it makes a light silky lather.
