Questions & Answers for Jonathan Product Dirt Texturizing Paste(R)

Question
Dirty or texturized?
Does this make your hair feel actually dirty? Because the day after I wash my hair it feels greasy and flat and gross. I want more of a texturized, layered, wild look. Is this the product I want??

No! I think it's called DIRTY cause it makes hair have some texture (from the products used the day before..) my hair is fine, so w/o product it's flat. DIRT smells nice too!

This doesn't make your hair greasy or dirty just textured. This is the only product I can use one day and not have to wash my hair the next to get a good look.

The product gave me the piecey look I was going for, my only problem was that it left my hair looking dull and it dried it out. I should add that I have dark chemically relaxed hair, it may be fabulous on yours.

Im very breakout prone and have not had this problem. I would assume theirs an ingredient in it that either clogs your pores or you are allergic to. If you still want to use it try to keep your hair out of your face and wash your pillowcases often

Yes - it does. What I do is use a little at a time, by sticking my finger in the jar and then warming it up so it liquifies a little. Then I start with the bottom layer of my hair (putting the rest in an elastic) and basically run it through, one section of my hair at a time. This also gives it a more "piecey" look too, which I like. But def defines my layers bc I do them all separately.

Actually I think he would really like dirt. It gives moveable definition and doesn't give a greasy or wet gel look. Just have him scoop a little with his finger, rub with the fingers on the opposite hand, and "pinch" little pieces all over. My bf loves it. Works when he has his hair short or longer.

I doubt it .... too hard to work with - not pliable, spreadable, etc.

I never add water to it. I'm not sure what that would do to it, but I think it's meant to be used "as is."

Question
Does this product work well on holding down edges on African American hair?
am looking for something to hold my edges in place all day. More importantly, my hair is not permed- it is natural. It is mostly curly and unruly around the edges so I am looking for something that will lay down my edges hold and freeze them in place. Will this product do that? If not, can you recommend me a product that will? If possible, I would like to place my order today. Thanks!

It worked well with my flat iron, and the hold was great, it just dried my hair out and left it dull looking.

i apply the dirt paste to my dried (and styled) hair. take a small amount of the product and rub hands together until product becomes warm (pliable.) apply to hair as needed. it can be used to simply smooth hair or as a style aid. adds shine and texture. i almost always have to spray with a light holding spray afterward.
