Questions & Answers for NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo

Question
has anyone tried the new shades?
the hungry heart duo sounds like two highlighters or maybe a highlighter with a light blush, I have never had much luck with bronzer but love nars blushes in orgasm, angelica and desire. My skin is fair with freckles, green eyes, light brown hair. Any advice?

Hi,

Go with individual shades. They're so much prettier. The darker two duos don't work on my fair skin, and the shades sold invidually are beautiful with it. I'm much happier with shades that are more appropriate than those that came in the duo. Hungry Heart is a little bit of an exception, but they're highlighters.

I just bought hungry heart and I love it. I have light skin and I use both as highlighters. They have a lot of shimmer and glitter though so be warned.

If you've never had luck with a bronzer, I highly suggest trying Laguna. It is light enough that you can build up to your desired shade. It's definitely formulated more like a blush vs. a bronzer (where with a bronzer, you tend to swipe your brush across the palette and get a ton of product - with NARS Laguna, you get a little on the brush each time). I am a bronzer junkie and tend to go overboard with it (to the point of looking a little odd) so Laguna definitely helps me keep my heavy hand at bay.

Question
how to apply
Do you recommend a brush, makeup sponge, or other to apply this product? Just bought it and not sure how. I've tried both and feel like I'm wasting product and having trouble getting the coverage I want.

Through trial and error, I found that using my fingers is the best way to apply. I tried with a makeup brush but it streaked terribly (especially the bronzer) and looked pretty awful. Hope this helps!

This product is good with a brush. But I noticed that as well. Alot of blush is wasted as it spills out of the tray. I am going to use this more as a highlighter to my other blushes. Its too light to use by itself in my opinion. I thought it would apply darker, but it does not.

I usually apply the bronzer with a medium size semi-firm brush on my cheeks, temples, bridge of nose, chin and jaw line. then with a blush brush I apply the blush just on the apples of my cheeks. The affect is gorgeous!

Question
Why aren't the highlighting/blush duos being sold on Sephora?
I saw on the Nars site that they were also selling the Albatross/Orgasm duo, but Sephora wasn't. I was just wondering why because I'd rather get that duo instead. Does anyone know if Sephora will stock up on them soon?

Stay tuned. Sometimes they sell the Orgasm/Laguna duo as an Orgasm/Laguna/Albatross trio. I know they do it around Christmas time but they may do it throughout the year as well.

I have medium/olive skin but it gets a bit darker in the summer ... i use the orgasm/laguna duo and it looks great on my skin - the blush is not too light and the bronzer is just right!

My skin tone is fair, so I am not sure how it would look on your mother. The bronzer is the best I have tried. It adds that little hint of sun-kissed glow with out looking fake. The blush is fantastic too. I have to be careful not too use too much since my cheeks are already fairly pink. This is the best blush and bronzer I have used and I would recommend it to anyone, even my own mother.

Sephora is all about customer satisfaction. I live in the mountains, I use Dior Air Flash spray makeup. One didn't work, and one canister is $60. Sometimes spray cans and lighters don't work at high altitudes. I sent it back with no explanation, and they credited my account. No hassles.

Question
I need to find a blush that shows but draws away from my usually red cheeks
I have tan skin with pinkish undertones more then anything else. Blue (BLUE) eyes and a medium dark brown hair color. My cheeks tend to look great while putting makeup on but quickly turn RED. I need a blush that shows but will help minimize the red that comes thru. I'm actually a makeup artist so I feel silly asking this, but I really have tried soooo much!!! Help please!!!!!

I am a ruddy person too and didn't wear blush for decades because of it. I got a mini orgasm as a freebie and owned 8 Nars blushes within a year! Orgasm is actually not my favorite. I really like Sin and Dolce Vita, I think they match my natural blush much better and blend in naturally. I don't do my apples (most of my redness is in the center of my face). I use one of those blusher brushes where the bottom is thick and the end has only half the bristles. This forces me to use a light touch and build color slowly. I start at my temples and then blend towards my apples. Deep throat is in the same color group as orgasm, but is lighter. it is what I use when I don't want to look "made up." hope that helps!

My daughter is wild about this color. She is in the fashion media industry. Has rose undertones to her skin, "cool palette" blue eyes. Its the only color she cannot run out of. She doesn't wear a ton of makeup, wears a tinted moisurizer. Would never tlerate red cheeks!

laguna is closer to the "golder" shade and casino is closer to the darker shade in sun bunny. I own all three and prefer casino for everyday. I also find the Nars bronzers easier to work with as they are very buildable
