Question
Does Bvlgari Black come in an EDP?
I recently purchased the Bvlgari Black, and noticed it came as an Eau de Toilette- all the reviews stated that the fragrance lasts all day. I noticed it fading away almost immediately and for $80 was extremely disappointed. I am an avid perfume collector, and I go for the unusual hard to come by fragrances for the most part. I read about this perfume in a book called "Perfumes, the A-Z guide" by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. It was rated a 5 star and an unusual unisex fragrance labeled as "hot rubber"- so I had to try it. My fragrance appeal goes across the board. I usually am drawn to the musks and oriental "incense" fragrances rather than the sweet/ floral- but it changes from mood to mood and day to day. I do, however, like perfumes that linger throughout the day without having to reapply. Hence, Angel by Thierry Mugler became one of my favorites. Especially for the price of Bvlgari Black, you'd expect it to keep you company for more than a few moments. I have other eau de toilettes, but go for the stronger perfumes as the EDT's fade too quickly. I didnt see an Ead de Parfum (EDP) for Black, and all the reviews stated it lasts all day so I thought it would be ok. Either I need to keep searching, or I need to accept the fact that the beloved fragrance just will not "hang around" me for long..??? :(

If you are looking only for the rubber scent then you will be disapointed, this is nothing more than a transitory top note and is supposed to fade quickly so that you can then get to the heart of the fragrance. You'll notice that things like tea are listed as its main notes, and those are only apparent after the overwhleming rubber scent fades and they do last for a very long time.

I remember the release of this fragrance by BVLGARI so it's been around for more than a decade and unfortunately I've never seen it as an EDP. I also noted the short 'staying power' so I usually spray for my hair and carry a small atomizer of the stuff. I'm very glad to see Sephora carrying it.
