I dont think there is a problem if they are a bit moist. They are in a sealed plastic wrap. What I do, I normally run it in hot water, squeeze out the water, and repeat.

They naturally feel like they are slightly damp right out of the package--if they feel really wet, I would be a little cautious.

They always come slightly damp ; that's totally normal. Otherwise, they'd be little bricks and be too rough or harsh. Can't say I know what it is, but I'd think some kind of preservative.

Yes, they're supposed to be like that. I don't really understand why, but it is normal for these sponges. I've bought them from another brand, and those were damp in the plastic packaging, too. They aren't moldy or anything. I think they just seal them in with a little bit of moisture to keep them nice-looking... Because a damp sponge looks cushy and feels soft, but a dry sponge looks kind of rough and feels hard.

NO, no, no.... that is how sponges are sold. Once you opened your package, they dried out, right? Your sink sponges are sold the same way. No worries!

I put them in a bowl of water and put in in the microwave for 1 minute. Rinse and drain with cold water so you burn your fingers. It's not quite boiling hot, but it's close.

Rinse with hot water, squeez out water and let it dry.

After washing my face, I use an anti-bacterial soap and give the sponge a good washing. Then I prop it up against my facial cleanser to allow it to air dry. One sponge will last me up to a month if not longer, doing these 2 simple steps.

Usually you can microwave sponges while damp to kill bacteria

I just run it under hot water after rinsing out the soap. I don't keep them too long as they are not expensive. It's like any cloth or sponge, you just know when it's no good. Maybe a week ? I allow mine to dry untouched between uses and not remain in a wet, tiled area.

we would wash with soap and water, squeeze out excess and stand them upright to dry. (lean them against something where they can have good air circulation. You could microwave the damp sponge for a minute to kill any bacteria but that greatly reduces the life of the sponge. We havent found them to have any smell or otherwise yucky quality...

I clean my sponge in use with a gentle liquid soap. I put one pump on the dirty sponge, lather it, & rinse thoroughly.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Don't use them too long. Germs can collect in any sponge. For the price of these sponges, just toss them after a bit, but how long you keep them depends on what you're doing with them and what products you're using them for. Common sense will have to dictate - oil based products will get trapped more easily in the nooks.

I wash my sponges after each use and let them air dry in the sun on a rack. I usually use a brush cleaner that's also good for sponges.

you could also microwave it or throw it in your dishwasher--that's how a lot of people sanitize cellulose kitchen sponges to kill bacteria. :) i don't recommend doing this after spritzing with rubbing alcohol, though. maybe do that after you nuke.

Here's the tip my facialist told me: after each use spritz it with some rubbing alcohol or witch hazel and store it in a Ziploc-type baggie to keep it moist. After about a month or two of doing this she suggested throwing it out and starting with a fresh one. I use the green rubbing alcohol (only because it smells better than plain alcohol) from the drugstore and keep it in a little spray bottle next to my sink. Hope this helps.

I would replace them every month or so, just like you would your kitchen sponge. I think 4 or 6 weeks.

I've been using mine for three weeks, and it's still going strong. Just lean it up against something to let it dry and then store it somewhere.

I use them for a couple months. When it starts getting a little gray looking, I replace it with a fresh one.

Personally, I use mine two or three times before I pitch them. After I use them, I scrub them out with anti-bacterial soap, rinse, and stick them in the dryer if I happen to be doing laundry around that time... other wise, i just set them out in a dry place to air out.

I use these to gently wipe off my facial masks, and I cant count how many times I have used mine. (I use two at time, faster more efficient), my little girl was probably more rough with it and she used it twice a day for basic washing with gel cleanser (she would rinse and squeeze it, then stand it up to dry) so hers started to break down sooner, maybe a month? or more? even when you have to replace it, its worth the few dollars....I found them soft and non abrasive...multipurpose

So long as you clean out the sponge and don't use it to remove make up it will last months.

One sponge usually last atleast 4 months for me. It is important to disinfect the sponge after each use. The sponge will break down quicker due to bacteria build up if you don't.

The three sponges should last a couple of months. I always wash them out and then let them drip dry. Longevity also probably depends on what you're doing with them.

I use these to rinse off my makeup, not to wash, but... I use daily for 2-3 weeks before tossing, depending on humidity levels. Just rinse well in hot water and let air dry between uses.
I'm sure microwaving (from another user's comments) is fine, but it will dry out the sponge and make them rougher. I have skin that breaks out at the drop of a pin and haven't had issues with bacteria.

Toss from 2weeks to a month, I wouldn't recommend putting them in the microwave for long no more than 10 seconds to heat them up while cleaning your face.

WHEN THE SPONGES HAVE HAD ENOUGH USE THEY TEND TO SHRIVEL UP OR BECOME VERY HARD, THROW THEM OUT AND BUY NEW ONES. I DONT THINK THESE SHOULD BE MICROWAVED.

I clean mine with a mild hand soap and would NEVER consider putting one in a microwave. I don't have a set amount of time when I discard mine. However, when the sponge continues to look dirty even after I have washed it, that's when I replace it with a new one. You can usually tell by looking at them when they should be discarded. Try this....place a new sponge next to the one you have been using. A new sponge has a bright yellowish tone. Sponges that have been used for several times start to look dingy and a good sign its time to toss it.

I wash them with some of my facial cleanser, let them air dry and I use them for about a week and a half then toss. They last me about a month. So $6/mo. isn't bad.

You can reuse them for several washes. Just don't use them for weeks because they can collect bacteria. They will also begin to fall apart after a week or so.

Depending on the humidity level, I use mine daily for 2-3 weeks with no issue. Just rinse them out really well after each use and set out to dry between uses. I have sensitive, combination skin as a reference point.

You can definitely reuse them. I just rinse the cleanser off them really well after every use, and sometimes wash them out with regular hand soap (once a week is plenty). If you're using it just a few times a week and it dries out well between every use, one sponge should last 4 months. If you're using it twice a day, I think one sponge should still last at least 1 month.

they are pretty similar, but the ecotools sponges are a bit smaller. I personally prefer this larger size.

I think they're pretty much the exact same product. Simple, basic, cellulose sponges, same size, same thickness (or very close).

Have no idea what an ecco tool sponge is but this is out of this
world for your face-use with an antibacterial liquid soap and it
does wonders.
